Not that the new player experience isn't a mess - but it might actually be better tomorrow with guardian ranks supposedly acting as a bit of a "this is what you should be doing." I haven't played properly since the end of... the forsaken seasons? I did get beyond light on sale and played a bit of it, but bounced off as I think Witch Queen was already out and I had no idea what I was doing. Anyway, is Lightfall going to be a good time to get back into the game? Or will I need to buy the old xpacs and go through them for must-have exotics? And how does getting Stasis work, will I need to complete Beyond Light? Oh yeah, and is the transmog system still completely stupid, I have no idea what the current state of the art is and there are too many seo articles floating around to figure it out.

Yes, Lightfall is a good time to jump on board. It’s a lot better than jumping on board a week ago when there were 4 different seasons live and a lot of the stuff you would be learning would be about to get radically changed Yes, you have to complete the Beyond Lifht campaign and a bunch of grinding to unlock Stasis Transmog is a bit less stupid than it was at launch but still pretty stupid

Transmog is now: You have a cosmetic tab that lets you apply any ornament to any armor, excluding exotics. You can also turn unlock any armor you've collected as an ornament through a special currency. (You can only get 10 of these per class a season)

Maybe there’s a performance issue with too many universal ornaments and instead of solving it they went “if we make acquisition slow enough nobody will ever see this isssue”

The bird armor should be the armor next season, and they're also adding in the option to focus the old sets so every trials set ever should be available. Since trials is LL enabled they don't turn it on for a few weeks at the beginning of a season. The earliest it'll return is the week after the new raid debuts, but I could see them making that IB week (especially because they're moving this to 3 times a season) and having trials return the week after.

I didn't catch that it's a 24 hour downtime. I was 94% to a Vangaurd reset midway through a strike to get the weapon for my last Seraph title requirement when it went offline.

Note: Weapons that already have an existing anti-Champion behavior (i.e. an Artifact mod, an intrinsic anti-Champion capability, or the ability to apply another subclass keyword that stuns a Champion type) will not be granted the anti-barrier behavior from volatile rounds.

Everything looks great but it seems wild that Chill Clip deals with the two most annoying kid of champions trivially. Like, I'm not complaining because I love my Deliverance and it just got even better but it is a choice to make that particular perk even better.
