Does a lot of damage, doesn't die, his level 3 attack is ridiculously good at a lot of things. Works best if you have someone else that also does Rupture though.

I, uh, did not do that!

This time I paid more attention to how the actions were distributed, saw that the problem was that my Sinners were wasting attacks on the other enemies, and nuked the minions from orbit so that my sinners would properly focus on the boss. Hong Lu Tingtang Gangleader did 50% of the total damage in that fight because they had multi-coin attacks that Mutilate could beat over and over again, which seems to multiply the number of times it hits during final resolution. He ripped 100 HP off the boss in one move and got her most of the way to stagger all on his own.

His Mutilate is basically an EGO attack, at least if we're talking about the starting EGO. It's pretty ridiculous.

For those of you whose phone runs Limbus Company badly and you want to play on the go you can use the Steam Link app to use your computer to stream play it from steam.

Also be careful with the automatic targeting feature, I've had Reindeer Ishmael's 3 skill go off without enough charge straight into my team.

Absolutely, my phone might be like 3-4 years old or so but it was highish end when it released, and it absolutely heats up when playing a dungeon.

I am having a lot of trouble on 2-12, probably because I am bad. I try using defensive actions but it doesn't seem to be helping? I don't really understand how they work. I try using them when I'm being attacked by someone I can't win in a clash against, but that still seems to leave my character staggered, and then dead the next turn.

When I rolled, I continued after getting two 000s and one EGO. It's... not worth rerolling now, is it? I pulled another 000 after that, so I have 3 000s and 1 EGO out of my first 60 rolls or so.

The alternative seems to be grinding the low-level story missions until I can overlevel myself enough to beat the 2-12 enemies, though, which... is also going to take a long time?

Mariachi lady is kicking my rear end hard. I can get through her goons just fine, barely taking a scratch, but then she shows up and two turns later it's game over. She's got massive amounts of attacks and coins to throw around and does a different type of damage than her minions.

I rerolled until I got 1 EGO and 2 000 characters (not including the free one). Hilariously, the EGO is on Faust who doesn't have any other identities.

I played through the full tutorial but I'm still really unclear on how combat works. Can someone clear this up for me?

So on the stat page there's all this:

1. Number of coins. This is the number of times the attack triggers, right?
2. Skill power. The base number of the coin?
3. Coin power. The maximum number the coin can roll with the minimum being one?
4.Offense level. Calculated against the target's defense to get a multiplier on damage dealt.

In actual combat I'll see two numbers like a fraction, (like 5 over 11). Is this the range of numbers the coin will roll for use in clashes and damage? Is this every coin or will multi-coin attacks have different ranges?

Also is there a definition for the term "head hit"? It shows up as a trigger effect but I don't see an explanation anywhere.

When two attacks clash between your side and the enemies, the base value of the skill is taken, then every coin in the skill is flipped simultaneously, every Heads makes it so that the thing above the skill (+3, -2, etc.) happens to the base number.

Once the math's done, the two final numbers are compared, highest wins, one 'coin' is knocked off the loser, and the clash repeats until one side has no coins, after which the actual skill goes through.

This time, each coin is flipped in sequence, and at each step the value is the base damage (though the damage can fluctuated based on Resistances, Resonance, buffs, etc.).

Say you have a skill with a Base Value of 5, a modifier of +2, and two coins.

You luck out and get two Heads in the clash. Thats 5 + 2 + 2 for a total of 9. You win the clash.

The skill starts. Frowny face, Tails first, deal 5 damage. Then you get a Heads, and do 7 on the follow-up.

"Heads Hit" means it takes place if you get a Heads on that individual coin, after the damage takes place of that hit.

Boksi
Jan 11, 2016
As far as I understand it, how it works is:

If you make an unopposed attack, you get your skill, with its base power value, and its coins. You then flip each coin, for each heads the power value increases depending on the coin. You then make one attack per coin, dealing damage depending on your roll and applying special effects per coin - since each coin corresponds to a specific attack, its effects only apply to that attack.

In a clash, both sides flip their coins and whichever side has the lower power loses, and thus loses one coin from their skill. If the losing side still has coins, you go again, otherwise the winner gets to attack with whatever coins they have remaining.

This may not be 100% accurate though.

1. Sort of. I think there are some single-hit attacks that have multiple coins? But basically, when a clash happens, the coin is flipped. If heads, the coin modifier is added to the Power of the skill. If your power is higher than the enemy, they lose their coin. You keep yours. This happens until one side has no coins left. Once that happens, your attack goes off, re-flipping all coins (I believe) for each part of the attack, adding coin mod on heads, as before.
2. Skill power is base attack of the skill. It will always start with this number (barring debuffs/buffs to power.)
3. Coin modifier/power is what is added on heads. It's not a dice roll, it's a yes/no coin flip on if it gets added. Some skills have a negative dice mod.
4. Correct.

I'll have to look at what you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure that's just base power and coin mod?

As for Head Hit, its if the attack connects, and the coin flip on that hit is Heads.

Also hello, I am a PM head who has been quietly lurking for a long time. This game rules.

Yeah, gotta say love the dungeons but the normal people fights are no good. On the mariachi lady I just did it a couple of times without changing anything and got my rear end kicked the first two times and steamrolled the third and it was basically just down to computer deciding to actually attack people who made sense. I appreciate that they wanna have a simpler version of combat for some stuff but it takes decisions out of your hands in places where you would do much better if you had them.

drat, Chapter 3 ramps up in expected level real fast. 3-2 expects level 16, 3-3 expects level 20, and yeah, they stomp you at that part about as hard as you'd expect if you're the natural level of about 13. I guess they expect you to delve real hard into the Mirror dungeon?

Is there any way to get EXP tickets other than real money or the battle pass? I don't think I've found the typical Gacha Grinding Area in the level select menu.

The mirror dungeon drops a ton of EXP tickets. Also people have found out that you can't get shards out of it anymore after your 5 weekly special runs, which means Limbus has the dubious honor of being the actual stingiest gacha I've ever seen. Even the absolute depths of the depths gacha have some sort of repeatable way to get rolling currency, and Limbus not only doesn't but also prevents you from grinding the stuff for the guaranteed drops in any kind of reasonable timeframe.

honestly limbus takes up a weird place monetization wise imo
it's not as "fair" or f2p friendly for story missions as something like Girls Frontline or Arknights,
but also they're not going full glitz and glamour casino shine 15 popups every time you log in like King's Raid or Cookie Run.
Like, it feels as if they designed the game first and then the monetization after?
Usually when there's this kind of wishy-washy payment scheme the waveform either collapses into one or the other
(Genshin Impact pivoting to becoming an abyssal timesink) or it shutters after 2 years (a la Dragalia Lost).

would be a shame if this shutters, but also I haven't been able to play at all because it crashes on my phone when i go into battle and i can't merge into my Steam account so I may just be jeering at sour grapes here.

My secret? I don't have any bones.
beat chapter 2 and the mirror dungeon! main team is G Corp Gregor, G Corp Outis, LCCB Rodion, R Corp Heathcliff, and Blade Lineage Yi Sang.
Gregor: got his Lantern EGO, which pairs well with the stupid amount of green this team makes. always the last to die unless he gets killed from full hp because of how stagger works.
Outis: badly needed UT3 for consistency reasons, but her huge fuckoff attack is a joy to land.
Rodion: Surprisingly effective. Bludgeon is very fun to use.
Heathcliff: good clasher and damage dealer. Why the hell does r corp have limited ammo though? isn't "so much ammo its basically infinite" part of their deal? 13 shots is not infinite.
Yi Sang: Either he's a crit god who does a shitload of damage, or he loses every clash, gets staggered, and dies. no inbetween.

Main roadblock: 2-12. Beat it by upthreading my dudes; Gregor to UT3, everyone else to UT2.

Mirror Dungeon: I lost three dudes in the final fight to bad rng but otherwise had little trouble. Fun rewards but i'm not excessively enthused to know my hunch of "the exp gotten from doing this is going to be needed" was correct.
