I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

Zipper merges are great. You go all the way to the end of the merge lane and then jam yourself in between two stopped cars with the threat of hitting them. The only real question is why the merge lane is more than 1 car length long

Ontario to consider more sites for new 2+1 highway system

Lmao they're gonna try this on the 401 and it's going to kill so many drivers.

We have a street kind of like this in Toronto already, not a highway but sort of a main artery; Jarvis Street has lights running up the middle lane that indicate when it's a northbound or southbound lane. I'd like to see crash statistics around it, because literally the only time I got into that lane on the motorcycle, I saw someone driving directly towards me in it.

In fairness this system is used all over the place in western Canada (and I assume mountainous areas everywhere) and it's fine. And while Ontario drivers are terrible, so are all drivers, it likely can't be worse than the current situation.

"realistic" - where the gently caress are all the parking lots.

Edit: Here is my idea for a game. "Car Brain" you basically start off in the worse car brain city, and you try to keep it afloat by managing various aspects while all the citizens keep fighting against you.

There is no end point, you keep going until you are killed off by an angry citizen like an coin-operated arcade game

Yeah Canada is not nearly as progressive as Americans think it is outside of perhaps health care. Vancouver is an overwhelmingly car dominated city with a vertical stratification of wealth. I don’t know if Seattle or Portland are that much better but it is hard to be excited about it.

Honestly, I think Manitoba and Quebec drag the country a bit so it isn’t outright far-right. A lot of Europeans think Canada is the better America it is just more of a twist on America.

Car brain has a solution to this: buying a furnace that can be mounted on a truck and burning fossils for heat.

Also Canada seems like America except making the slightest bit of effort to be less terrible. Sort of like the second slowest guy running away from a bear, but with cars and capitalism.

Car turns from straight lane, and the cyclist is legally meant to be in that lane. And the number of people going “well they were both wrong.” No you dolts!

Also, just watched a RR&BD Driving School where a motorist tries to beat a team that is clearly going to be ahead of it, and it’s captioned “an accident”. Blergh!

Every one of those idiots is insisting that the cyclist is wrong for going straight in a turning lane, but he would have been hit regardless. It's not even clear that he was going straight. He'd barely entered the intersection.
