Transporting tech is the wildest "if you gave this to a writer to solve a problem, you'd end up having to write out why they can't use it ever again" issue ever.

That episode left that door too open.

The black commbadges were a cool visual idea, but a really stupid story idea.

The transporting bullet was really hilarious, because it's way too complicated. So you've got this gun, and you put a little transporter attachment on the end of it. Ok, but why? Why not just transport someone's heart into space? Why not just transport a poison pellet into their stomach? Or an air bubble into their heart?

I figure it's for situations where you can't transport anything to or from the target's body but you can transport something a short distance away from the target. Kind of like you couldn't teleport bombs onto a planet but you can teleport missiles a short enough distance away they can't be intercepted.

Quit watching in season 3 cos it was a pile of poo poo, but did they ever end up giving any of the bridge crew a personality?

Also, Saru isn't in that picture, they didn't kill off the best character did they?

3 and 4 give Detmer and Owosekun a little bit more to do but they still feel like featured extras most of the time

So he's got to be a changeling.

There's lots of interesting stories and classic Trek action happening in the actors' heads while they stand around in the background for shoots. Obviously we don't get to see it, but for them they are imagining some of the best trek

I liked that they had a consistent bridge crew. It seems more believable than your bridge being rotating cast of nameless extras every week. The problem is that the show expected us to care about them like they were the main cast (or are they considered main cast?) and not just extras. It isn't like any of them were ever really developed.

Well, I guess Owosekun was from a luddite family or something, which I only remember because it was from a S2 episode I actually liked. And Detmer was apparently a macho fighter jockey for like an episode, before that was forgotten about. And the robot lady they had forgotten to develop until the episode she was spaced.

Luv 2 be talked down to by the show that I watch

Also the one guy is the RENT guy on Broadway so he is nailing it honestly

Disco really does have the sin of having an amazing cast of talent and doing Jack poo poo with it, even has some of the more interesting writing concepts that they never develop or half rear end of the modern trek shows.

It's a horrible waste

Trip and Phlox were cool, also Jeffrey Combs made Andorians badass.

Malcolm Reed I forget exists besides when he's edgy, Mayweather is like "Harry Kim levels of "who?" And Scott Bakula is...eh fine

I like Hoshi's actress but holy poo poo she's written more insane than Keiko O'Brien.

Good guest stars though.

Enterprise for its flaws did different things, sometimes well: at the time I hated it but on rewatch the Xindi arc and the Delphic Expanse are pretty great, the Xindi are a unique enemy, and it has a pretty excellent last season besides the bad TNG episode cop out. That show was actually starting to find it's footing, and the origin of the Federation as the Smug rear end in a top hat Vulcans vs the Murder rear end in a top hat Andorians was fun.

Andorians give Klingons a run for their money in aggression, they really need more show representation.

looking at SAG-AFTRA's pay tables, standard wages for a series regular on an hour-long TV show are about $4,200 a week during filming
