He is in fact playing Splinter. Esposito is playing Stockman. The cast is pretty drat stacked.

Say Watt?

Maybe I'm more sensitive to it because I used to wear them but why after decades did character designers start giving Donatello glasses? Makes him seem like he's not a fighter.

I'm getting more Mitchells vs The Machines from that style than SpiderVerse. But I'm not complaining. Any de-Pixar-ification is good! (I don't mind Pixar... just want some things to freshen it up from time to time).

He wears the glasses under.

Also he absorbed enough Morphin Grid energy / chronal reversal negative ions that he didn't need glasses after a while.

All they forgot to include was some "in a world..." voice-over.

I def cringed. And to be fair... Wool isn't even anything super new in sci-fi storytelling. Just a fun story where the vertical traversing makes things interesting.

But they didn't have to go for THAT low hanging of fruit.

I'm concerned that style is going to become over exposed and quickly normalised tbh. Variation is awesome -- it'd be great if we got more styles in circulation at the one time, and not just a new dominant style.

unfortunately I don't know about that - a mid-budget sex comedy is already an aberration in 2023, that it is produced by and stars one of the few people under 40 that seems to have measurable draw power probably goes a long way towards explaining how it exists in the first place

It really seems odd. It's not really funny. The jokes seemed very broad and early 2000s at best. This is the kinda thing I'd expect to have a white cover with red text. Really seems like a miss.
