My guess of why the narrative has shifted from "we don't know who blew up the pipeline" to "Ukraine blew it up" is cuz European support for the war is collapsing.

It's because of the Hersh story. And the story very explicitly doesn’t say Ukraine blew it up, just that the trail ends there. Might even be a false flag!!

I think it's just a panicked deflection, like a toddler claiming they didn't eat the cookies or break the thing. It doesn't matter that saying it's Ukraine will probably cause German support for Ukraine to deteriorate, they haven't thought that far ahead

Earlier the pipeline bombing was bad, because Russia did it. If new evidence points to it being by ‘pro-Ukraine’ forces this would change a lot and mean that the pipeline bombing was actually good all along. New Ukrainian victories that we didn’t even know about are being revealed, things are probably going even better for Ukraine than you would think just watching the news.

The Brits were training all of those Ukrainian naval commandos in underwater demolitions. I wonder if that was all for the planned Crimea bridge attack (suicide bomb was Plan B), or maybe they planned to involve them in this and they didn’t make the grade, or they trained them “for this” but really to be fall guys.

This Georgia protest is interesting. They are against a bill that requires organizations that get a certain amount of funding from outside register as foreign agents. This passed their parliament with a large majority. As one can imagine certain NGOs would be forced to register their ties. In the west this is unsurprisingly portrayed as an assault on human rights/freedom/signposts with a clenched fist on them. Georgia argues this is a necessary step to maintain sovereignty and avoid outside destabilization.

I’ll have to research more specifics, but I am surprised at the anger at having to register as a foreign agent if one is in fact a foreign agent. For myself, I never found my having to register as a foreign agent in the US impeded my important work for Fasco-Communism.

EU's Borrell condemns Georgia foreign influence law

STOCKHOLM, March 7 (Reuters) - European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Tuesday a Georgian draft law on “transparency of foreign influence” was a "very bad development" for the country and could seriously affect its ties with the EU.

"This is a very bad development for Georgia and its people," Borrell said in a written statement.

Protesters in the small ex-Soviet state threw petrol bombs and stones at police on Tuesday night after parliament gave its initial backing to a draft law on "foreign agents" which critics say represents an authoritarian shift.

CANBERRA, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Exposing China's activities was the "key purpose" of Australia's foreign interference laws, but the scheme has failed to do this, former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, who introduced the laws, said on Tuesday.

The Australian government was careful not to name China when introducing laws to prevent foreign interference in 2018, but the move nonetheless sparked tension with Australia's largest trading partner that later developed into a diplomatic freeze.

Turnbull told a parliamentary committee the "key purpose" of a foreign interest register was to disclose the links the Chinese Communist Party's United Front Work Department had formed in Australia.

"The most active state and political party seeking to influence public affairs in Australia is China ... but they don't seem to appear on the register," he told a parliamentary inquiry in Canberra on Tuesday.

The law was aimed at authoritarian states and not Australia's security allies, and geopolitical tensions had worsened since it was introduced, he added.

The Albanese government, elected in May, has sought to stabilise relations with Beijing and wants to restart exports to China that were hit by trade bans during the diplomatic dispute, but says it has not changed its policy on China.

The committee is examining whether to adjust the foreign interference laws to improve their effectiveness.

It's authoritarian if you do it and democracy if you do it to root out authoritarian influence. So the typical two faced hypocrisy :v:.

So far the argument seems to be the bill itself was forced upon them by Russia/Russia friendly politicians and the process is undemocratic somehow, so that means any US intervention is just helping the Georgians to be free.
