Won't miss Pillager, Quest Mage as we know it is dead (although there's always potential for them to stall until they get some other win condition online like Rommath perhaps, but by that point the game should be nearly over so shouldn't be nearly as toxic a deck to face), and thank god they cut Discolock's power.

I think their gnoll fix is FUBAR, you can still Blazing Transmutation the gnoll into 10 drops

although - does blazing transmutation work differently than evolve effects? my assumption was that evolves would turn gnoll into gnoll as the only 11-mana minion in standard

it has to be a bug because the muck pool location correctly searches for 12 drops, finds none and returns the gnoll into another 11 drop gnoll (same behavior evolve always had)

blazing is coded wrong and goes DOWN to 10 drops for ..reasons?

no it is supposed to work the same in that you can evolve into minions from different classes, but you can't evolve into colossals (this was fixed a couple weeks after Blazing Transmutation released). There is no explanation for how the card is evolving the 11 cost Gnoll into a 10 cost minion.

The Gnoll evolve into 10 drops is indeed a bug. Nerfing the Gnoll to 11 mana actually has another effect on Evolve Shaman: 10 drops now always evolve into Gnoll

It does make Wild evolve worse as well - at least you knew you were getting an 8/8 when you evolve past 10, now you might just get an easy-to-kill Gnoll.

It's great.

The card has only existed for two weeks so they prolly fixed it a bit faster than that

My big beef is that construct quarter still being a menace in duals. The "start with your class location" makes it oppressive when most DK duels deck have at least one or two 1cost minions. T1 4/5 minion with rush is not cool even by wacky duel standards 😞.

The new Hunter secret is pretty nuts; not only does it answer an early minion but it also instantly infuses all the op Nathria cards and makes Leatherworking Kit finally viable

Frost DK is still a nail-biter matchup but it’s actually winnable now with construct quarter nerfed. Don’t really feel bad about any other matchups, possibly wildfire mage, but even shadow priest goes down if you stick an early ramming mount or infuse a frenzied fangs right away

There is no better feeling as jackpot rogue than discovering an objection and sniping the Countess when it comes down. I managed to do it 2 or 3 times last night and it was an incredible high every time as I watched them hesitate for 10 seconds then go for it anyway lol

If Deadly Arsenal was 'reveal and then draw it" it would... still be at least 1-mana and probably 2-mana overcosted but possibly functional. I don't know what you'd need to do to Glacial Mysteries to make it even potentially playable.

I always feel bad for Temporus.

I opened it in gold and I tried so hard to make it work. And while it was in Standard I'd say I was mildly successful. It wasn't a meta breaker or even particularly great most of the time, but I miss those games where I could drop it on an empty board at high health, having a good feeling my opponent couldn't finish me off in two turns.
Then I'd equip Dragon Soul and cast as many low cost spells as possible to flood the board with 5/5 dragons before using the next turn to send them at face.

Sadly using Temporus in Wild is absolutely a death sentence so there's no way I can ever remake that deck in any capacity and have it be anything other than doom for me, but whenever he gets brought up as 'one of the worst cards ever made' I still feel a certain fondness for all those janky wins I got with him simply because I was lucky enough to open him in gold :unsmith:

...Now Duskfallen Aviana - that's a card I cannot fathom any possible use for...

Temporus will eventually somehow get a good card to combo with but the combo will be too good and they'll have to nerf Temporus into the ground

randomly got the miniset survey today..the questions hint at blizz possibly going with more expansions with no minisets, or including stuff like cosmetics to incentivize miniset purchases (I'm assuming only for the Golden miniset..)

I am concerned by the last question on the survey about 'What if we had more mini-sets each year and fewer expansions?' I hope that isn't a popular option for a lot of reasons.
