drill music is one of my favorite things ever from a musical standpoint but i think it's made the culture of mostly-white hip hop heads treating gang violence as spectacle even worse than it already was (like obviously that poo poo has been around since the dawn of gangsta rap and the east-west feud and poo poo but the "chiraqology" types are legitimately disgusting to me) eta: although at least drill fans are usually upfront about their favorite artists' crimes; you ask a plugg fan about the sexual assault allegations against their favorite slayworld guy and they're like "dont care, music hard" (and then you listen to it and 90% if the time it's the kind of stuff you could only get into if you were as addicted to opiates as the rapper you're listening to)

I think I have posted itt about the many opportunities I’ve had to see completely washed up rappers coming through my terrible city. Riff raff. DMX (rip). MC Hammer. Tech Nine (he’s not here due to being washed, rather because it’s Missouri and that’s his thing I guess), you get the idea. Anyway Soulja boy is allegedly coming here in may.
