Today I spent over 15 minutes trapped in a carwash parking lot and I think i finally truly understood Trumpism in the process, a huge portion of the population has fundamentally lost the concept of a situation being mutually beneficial and serving a useful order, there has to be a winner and a loser. All spaces in the parking lot were taken, but more people were trying to get out of their parking spots then were waiting for the spots. However, the people desiring the spots refused to let the people that wished to give them to them leave because doing so would require them possibly losing access to the next available parking spot, thus, losing to a driver behind them. Simply allowing someone to leave and possible letting a driver behind them take the spot, would and eventually did, would yield more than enough parking instantly for all of them, but, they would "lose" to another driver who would possibly park seconds faster than they did, even though they were first in line. As I sat there, I realized, this is everything in our country, a huge portion of our population are willing to cause more harm to themselves and the community as long as it doesn't feel like they have sacrificed anything. Literally anything including an opinion or a feeling.
