Then again, Russia said it negligently fired a missile at the Brits a few months ago in the Black Sea and basically said “oops, our bad.”

quote:

Wallace added: “In my letter I made clear the aircraft was unarmed, in international airspace, and following a pre-notified flight path. I felt it was prudent to suspend these patrols until a response was received by the Russian state.
“The reply by the Russian minister of defence on 10 October stated they have conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and stated it was a technical malfunction of the SU-27 fighter.
“They also acknowledge that the incident took place in international airspace.”

I have no idea if this is "international airpace", but is sure is provocatively close to Sevastopol.

~22km out is international, so probably.

Drones get occassional updates with new equipment, I am sure it would be useful to poke around even if there isn't some magic new technology at play. Also, there will be at least some attempt to harvest data from it.

Useful to check out the sensor package which I understand has been updated a bunch in a few different configurations and I suppose communications gear, which probably has been updated after things like Iran hacking that Sentinel.

Flying back to base, wondering if you get yelled at more if you say you hit it on purpose or if you say you hit it on accident, but at least knowing that the other pilots will give you a high five or something.

In the meantime, the developer of the artillery notebook rolled out the first version of the artillery notebook for tank crews who are puzzled by firing from enclosed firing positions.

As the test implementation of the program showed, tankers with smartphones on which the program is installed should be taken by hand to artillerymen who have already mastered the software, so that they could explain and show everything. There is an instruction, it's good, but a live mentor artilleryman is better anyway.

In general, as long as you shoot from the ZOP of the tanks, then let's do it with as high quality and accuracy as possible.
