I believe they are taking the bugs off, though some bugs are good for a garden. IIRC ladybugs and mantises eat pests like aphids and slugs.

That bin looked entirely full of potato bugs and potato bug larvae

All you need is a fish or duck farm along side that to feed the bugges to and the circle of life is complete.

Good news, it leaves behind most of the bugs

Yeah he admitted fault in the most passive way possible.

I kind of understand, I'd have a hard time coming to grips with nearly killing myself by not double checking a critical safety measure. But I'd also not post it for anyone to see, and would probably look for a new hobby.

Also much less likely to get you hosed by your regional water board for dumping a bunch of oil, gasoline, and other automotive waste into the river.

You'd think that if they had dirt, pickups, and several people with access to lots of tools, it would be pretty quick to just fix the levee the old fashioned way, but I guess this is faster/cheaper depending on insurance and crop damage

if you just dump dirt in, it'll wash away. the pickups are basically the big rocks the better-equipped guys are using.

also if they're like the farm trucks we used to have, they were bought cheap and beat to poo poo so small loss.

I thought i saw somewhere they were using ones that had been written off due to damage so they were going super cheap.

They're in every single elevator without a double/inner set of doors sooo...
