I really don't get why they did it, this is clearly asking for escalation. Luckily NATO seems to be smart enough to not fall for this but a couple more such incidents and NATO might declare some no-fly zones and enforce them. Imagine you're on the losing side of a fist fight and you decide to punch a 2m 120kg bystander just for laughs....

It seems that, as we knew from before, mobiks and mobik officers are being made to sign contracts under the so-called republics rather than with the RU MoD. Their minimum contract is 5 years. This is probably to conceal the scale of casualties or to avoid actually paying the soldiers properly, or both. The soldier casts doubt on his capability to survive five years of fighting, given the level of heavy losses. Second intercept was some woman talking to her soldier husband who was previously part of the great feint of Kharkiv. Apparently the covert mobilization has increased in force and even students and such are being taken to the front because of lack of people at the positions. So overall things aren't looking great for Russia still. Possible  for mention of casualties in the first intercept.

There's always the option of the US letting Ukraine know what paths their drones will fly and if a couple of Ukrainian jets happen to be up there while the Russians are dicking around with the drone, well those things happen.
