The original idea for View to a Kill was just Goldfinger! It's the exact same plot, except with "gold" scratched out and "microchips" written in in crayon.

And instead we got Die Another Day, a movie so bad that it managed to really sour me on Bond movies to the point I skipped the Craig ones after that.
Then on a whim I watched Skyfall, realised it was a giant reset button and it soured me on Bond movies again. :v:

View to a Kill sounds way better to me as a non-Bond guy listening to these tracks for the first time (I think). Duran Duran are just better musicians/composers.

The beat on View to a Kill hits hard, Living Daylights is not nearly as groovy

Live and Let Die (from my memory) is still my fav

View to a Kill is the best bond theme, Duran Duran at their peak are hard to top. Living Daylights is good, but not in my top 3-4.

This really sucks

He had a lot of great roles over the years. For me I first saw him as the boss on Fringe where he had to play the straight man as a bunch of crazy supernatural poo poo was going on around him

I went through the first three Craig movies a couple of months ago. Casino Royale is a masterpiece, even with all the silly stuff in it carried over from the book. Skyfall is one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen, and it's so well-acted, well-shot, and well-scored that it distracts you from the fact that the story is dogshit and maybe the most regressive Bond movie of all time, which is saying something. The real surprise, though, was Quantum of Solace, which I hadn't seen since it came out. It's not an easy movie to love, but there is an awful lot to like about it.

It was partially written by the director Marc Forster and Craig due to the writers' strike, and Craig has slagged off his own work on the movie multiple times... but I think it's the best written of the three (though who knows how much of that was done pre-strike). It has a punchiness and an anger to it that the other movies lack. Bond encountering a shadowy cabal of business execs auctioning off a country and meets them face-to-face not for any real tactical reason, but just because he can, because he wants them to know that they're not untouchable. It's a really taut geopolitical thriller that's hampered by having to be a James Bond movie and a sequel to Casino Royale (although those bits aren't bad).

Quantum of Solace has one of the strongest endings in a Bond movie. I’d have to watch again to see how the rest of it held up, but the ending has stuck with me.

Exploration is ill-advised.
Spectre's ending was so bad it was hilarious. It's like something out of a parody.

I still just want a Bond movie to end with him fighting a Metal Gear.

well why not

Quantum is not bad and certainly not as bad as people pretend. It suffers from comparison.

The ending with Greene going insane with a fire axe owns.

No Time to Die is at least one act too long and Ana De Armas deserved more than one scene, but it’s fine. Better than QoS and Spectre, not as good as Skyfall or Casino Royale.

Although I will say, the opera house scene in Quantum... *chef's kiss*
