As a GM I assume I would also like to tell everyone about the cool poo poo I almost pulled off, so I find this to be extremely relatable I don't think there's any real harm in it unless other FO types get annoyed about him blabbing, and as a fan I prefer a GM that gives me too much insight into what he's thinking than nothing at all. So keep talking to impress Peter King (??), I say

Plus given how much of the business relies on having good relationship with people you're trading with, it's probably not a great idea to try to squeeze people for every last possible drop. The Packers and Seahawks regularly trade with each other since the two front offices have good relationships and they trust that the other isn't trying to cheat them.

Having him go "well I did try to work out if it could happen but at the end of the day went with something more solid" is cool insight, but you'd have to be real cynical* to think "well he screwed it up since he didn't pull off a historically convoluted double trade". * I believe this is Niwrad's queue
