What is the likelihood that Ken is kicked off hosting duties if Call Me Kat is canceled? It has to be less than 100% but between Paramount and Sony, who knows?

I think it's a juggle internally, the jeopardy die-hards wanting the branding to be it's quiz and community, would absolutely bat for Ken, but Hollywood wanting "celebrity for pull" will throw Ken under the bus if they think it'll make a million extra viewers.

If it was up to me, and I'm just a dork online like everybody else - Ken should just get the proper Jeopardy, and then for any gimmicks, get a special host.

Mayim can take Celebrity Jeopardy, you get Buzzy for College Tournament, bring back Dan Patrick for a "Sports Jeopardy" 2 week tournament. And find your "Pop Culture Jeopardy" host in the process.

Problem is, marketing the show with multiple hosts is a snag on the show. So it's easier to just have Mayim and Ken and have them switch it all about.

We don't get "Doctor Mayim", which was I believe the side most people really wanted to see.

I'd think it's a near-certainty. And Call Me Kat is one of Fox's least-watched shows.

I assume at this point that Ken has a permanent host contract. At a minimum they would need to wait until it expires.

Mayim's hosting the rest of the season starting May 1.

So? Ken still likely has a contract that probably goes into great detail about the number of episodes he will host and how the split between the two hosts works. They all stick to the contract or would need to pay penalties to fire him before it's over.

It might only be a 1 season deal but it's certainly no longer a "Guest Host" deal that's only good for one week when they need him or whatever. If it still is at this point he needs to fire his agent.

Also the studio is probably paying him less than her. If the ratings aren't significantly different enough there wouldn't be a reason to dump the less expensive host. In fact that might be a good argument for making him the only host.

If the last seven years or so have taught me anything, it's that the supposed "experts" in charge - politics, business, finance, Hollywood - are dumb as a pile of dogshit. I'd fully expect the idiots running Jeopardy to decide that between the two current co-hosts, Ken (the one with actual experience on the show and personality) should go.

I attended a GOP debate in 07/08. It was hosted by my university and I volunteered to help.

I checked coats for a while until it started. Then they grabbed the volunteers and let us into the auditorium. The only open seats were at the very front row. During the TV commercial breaks the candidates came up to the front to talk to us. I got Huckabee's autograph (and some others) but I have no idea where it is now.

I worked with a guy who went to Raytheon, and good old George Bush Jr. did a rally there, and they made everyone go out to the tarmac to watch.

I just made the connection because Chuck Norris campaigned for Huckabee during the 07/08 election cycle. I remember they appeared at a coffee shop here in downtown Dubuque.

So on the Insider podcast Davies has mentioned he's thinking about letting former contestants back on, especially those who were on the tournaments as kids who are now adults.

I think opening it up to regular contestants might be opening a floodgate (maybe with limitations like "have not appeared on an episode for X years" or something), but I can see letting special tournament contestants try for the regular show being fair.

HookShot

I imagine if they do open the "floodgates" it would be with a caveat that X years would have to pass between shows.

But I think it's a good thing overall. There are a lot of excellent quizzers out there who have had their shot. Victoria Groce was on back in 2005. I'd love to see what she could do now, in 2023. I'm personally a much better quizzer than I was back in 2018, and I know a lot of other people who have been on who are in the same situation.

IMO the rule should be people who haven’t won games (sorry Hookshot) or def like, 3+ games or wherever you want to set the bar. You can’t let Julia back on to crush people for 20 straight games.

I would accept one time winners (so Hookshot doesn’t stay mad at me), but I think it should at most 3-4 games won or whatever. 80,000ish people apply a year as it is.

The clue wasn't saying that it was made out of bone, but that people call it "whalebone". Apparently. I've never heard of it either.
