However, being an old school Chekist, he still has protection from the organization as well as the rest of the ultranationalist faction. Beside this, he knows too much and has a great deal of information to offer concerning his actions as an FSB officer in eastern europe. His role as mentioned before is essentially controlled opposition while serving as the (unofficial) mouthpiece of the intelligence organizations. If he were to be punished (being humiliated, imprisoned, or killed) it would make the ultranationalist faction angry with whoever did it, even if it was under Putin's own orders. So ironically his insignificance in terms of power and influence is one of the factors keeping him safe. It's also not outside the realm of possibility that he arranged to have the information he knows about his own activities and what he knows about Russia itself disseminated in the event of his disablement or death. For the time being I don't think this could lead to any overt change in the relationship Putin has to the other organs of state. But if this is repeated and amplified, especially among other ultranationalist sources, then we might see something happening. Though what that would be, is anyone's guess at this point.

The dad wasn't too chuffed about it and demanded to know what got into his son when his grandpa (the kid's great grandpa) fought against the nazis and died in WWII just like his dad was fighting "fascists and nazis in Ukraine" (lmao) now. He then told the kid to mend his ways and to watch films about the great Patriotic war instead of messing around on the internet all day. If only this precious pair of parents understood that they're brainwashed and happen to be the actual fascists in this case.
