They added that with update that gave us the CEO offices, I think, so it generally doesn't work on vehicles older than that

A Reversal of Fortune, Perhaps?
The fix is simple.

Current choices for vehicle access: Crew, Friends, Passengers, Everyone, No one

Theoretical fixed menu choices::
Vehicle Control: Crew, Friends, Passengers, No one, Organization, Everyone
Passenger access: Crew, Friends, Passengers, No one, Organization, Everyone

Anybody know what the rules are for which vehicle your character decides to enter? All these years playing GTA 5 and I still can't consistently make them choose the right vehicle. I wanted to say it tends to be the one they're pointed toward, even if it's a little further away, but there's plenty of exceptions and it's getting on my nerves again.

I think map geometry has something to do with it, somehow. There's a strip mall parking lot just East of the big mall (it's the closest payphone to my nightclub so I end up there often if I'm grinding assassinations) and when you go to enter a vehicle from the sidewalk there it'll send you the long way around, sometimes to a car that had been driving down the street when you hit the button.

The Southern San Andreas Super Autos page from your phone in-game. Beware though, while it looks very cool it's also very very slow, has terrible brakes and poor handling, and is prone to oversteer. No, you can tune it up to the point that it drives slightly less like garbage. You can also steal a tornado off the streets and tune that up for $1.5 million less and it'll drive better.

Hey, do different cars get different custom options? I really haven't delved deep into customizing cars, I've only done it twice or so. I realize it's likely not going to be anywhere near Forza's editor/custom shop, but do I ever get to put decals together? Put specific paint features on specific areas?

I at least get to put my crew's emblem on cars, right? Is that certain ones, or any car I customize?

most cars have a primary color and a secondary color in one specific pattern per car, and some cars have car-specific liveries. Most parts you can change such as air dams and side skirts let you choose whether you want it to be the primary color or secondary color

You can't put paint or stickers exactly where you want, the crew emblem can be put on any car in one specific place that isn't always great, it's usually very small.

For what it's worth, a lot of older cars have very few customization options, while a lot of more recent cars have more.

I mean that in terms of when they were added to the game, not like if they're retro-styled or whatever.

Powershift

The trade-off being more recently added cars are barely deformable. the GTA IV carry-overs are the most deformable. You can drat year fold the dukes in half, some of the more recent cars you can barely dent.

If you search for the specific car you're interested in at the GTA fandom wiki there is a list, with pictures, of all the individual upgrades for that car.

Rehashing some of the earlier answers, but most but not all vehicles can have Crew Logo applied to it. It will usually be on the doors or hood, and is hard-coded for each vehicle. Some vehicles just don't have the option. If you don't like whatever location the game put it, tough luck. Many liveries will look terrible with your crew logo covering them.

Liveries are found on most newer vehicles, and very rarely on older vehicles. Earlier vehicles which have them may only have 1 or 2 vehicle-specific liveries, however most newer vehicles with them will have 10-15 different options. The liveries themselves cannot be modified, only paint colors applied under it.

All vehicles (at least the ones worth buying) will allow at least 1 Primary paint color. Most vehicles will also provide a Secondary paint color, which might be something as simple as "recolors the hood or roof only" or specifically recoloring individual components: some vehicles will have specific "Secondary" paint options for bumpers, skirts, hood, spoiler, etc. Many newer vehicles also will have separate color options for interior Trim color.

All in all, the core game is a decade old at this point, and the amount of customization seen in Forza is much, much more than is possible using GTAV's engine. Here's hoping that GTA6 greatly improves vehicle modification - I would love Forza-levels of customization.

If that's true, it wouldn't be the first time. There's also the crazy poo poo Broughy1322 talked about where if you choose the divided spoiler on the X-80 Proto, it works correctly if turning left but not right when travelling north or south or whatever, but doesn't work the other way around which makes the car super inconsistent to control at high speeds.

68D 1h played, 22,566 miles travelled.

I have the entire map memorized
i know where planes and such spawn when called, and which spawn point i'm closest to at any given time
Thanks to the vigilante and oppressor, i know where every swimming pool and fountain deep enough to destroy them is.

Kids these days who buy the game and a shark card and get straight onto their broomsticks(oppressor II) will never know the map like us old folks who grew up driving around Los Santos.

Keep calm and Harry on.
Played a couple times. What I found out is I'm very good at recognizing the spot, but I only have a general idea where that spot is on the map.

Like "oh yeah, that's one of the streets that runs along the beach", but don't ask me where that street is. I just know if I go down two blocks and turn left that will get me to the freeway or whatever.

In other words, I know how to get where I want go, but I don't know exactly where I am.

I ignore the GPS a lot because it wants me to make a lot of unnecessary turns.

I've only been playing for about 2 years but I'm moderately good at navigating, especially the more familiar chunks of the map. I'll still use the GPS for anything where I have to drive a long distance just to find me a shorter route, but especially in the top half of the map that's not always to be trusted.

edit if you watch any of Failrace's Survive The Hunt videos they do everything with maps off and it reinforces how difficult navigation can be unless you're really familiar with the game

Same. I find it far more immersive when I turn off the GPS map, and I think reliance on the map has significantly slowed my ability to navigate by eye. I always end up with it reenabled though because sooner or later I end up being paranoid about nearby players.
