THE LIAR
I mean anything can happen, the Lions got two first rounders from the Rams that wound up being 32 and 6, and at one point it was all the way up at like, 3rd overall. It's an extremely fluky league where weird poo poo happens year to year. But the Panthers have had a good offseason, put together a good coaching staff and have what you would think is a pretty good situation for a rookie QB to come into, and they play in a very smelly division.

High on the Lions.

I honestly thought they were going to keep Chark.

Yeah, I’m a little surprised by that one. He had a great season, I wonder if the money was just better in Carolina.

Hey Brad.

Go sign Bobby Wagner with Chark’s money and then grab a WR in the draft.

As far as "trustworthy wide receivers for a rookie QB to have help them learn the game" Randall Cobb wouldn't be a bad fit.

Though having Cobb stick around to mentor the Watson, Doubs, Toure, [draft pick] crew wouldn't be bad either.

From my perspective as someone who doesn't have much knowledge of teams outside the NFC North my entire thought process was "well they are the ninth pick this year and drafting a rookie QB and supposedly gave their best receiver to us, so they will probably be a little worse next year while their QB develops". I fully defer to more knowledgeable people ITT tho and agree that in any case 2 first rounds is still really good

EDIT: also probably subconscious Bears fan bias: "teams just get worse and worse each year till everyone gets fired, right?"

Part of why the Panthers were so bad wasn't the roster, it was Matt Rhule being abysmal. Wilks got them to 7-10 and he's not as good a coach as Reich. I'd also argue Stroud is an improvement over what they had at quarterback last year. That plus NFC South and I think 7-10 is probably their floor barring injury.

The Panthers may not be bad but saying 7 wins is their floor is a stretch. Rookie QB, no Moore, no McCaffrey. There isn't a ton of talent on that roster and their record last season seemed a little better than their DVOA would imply. I'd put my money on 5-9 wins.

Eh, I doubt it. Teams found reasons to drop him a few years ago they’d find the same reasons this year. He’d be behind Stroud and Young I’m sure.

Richardson has a couple of inches and 20lbs on Fields. He’s Josh Allen sized. Putting up the numbers he did is nuts. Shame he’s bad at football.

I still can't figure out how Fields fell that far. He was #2 for like over a year behind Lawrence. Then a few weeks before the draft he plummets. He had a great combine, great season, and looked terrific in the CFP. It made absolutely no sense why Zach Wilson or Trey Lance jumped him.

NFL offices love outsmarting themselves and the Ohio State QB perception was very real. You could argue race is a factor as well but then again there's Lance.

Chark was only 1 year for 5 million. Probably hoping to play a full season and cash in, may not have wanted to be possibly 3rd WR on the lions behind St Brown and Williams. Either way he's good and Carolina got a stud.

Idiots started questioning his ability to compete despite the Clemson game. I do think a lot of it came down to racism tbh.

What Chark doesn’t know is that Holmes & Pals used his genetic code to create an evil DJ Chark duplicate who will play for the Lions in 2023.

Say hello to Cheeday Shark. His eyes and pupils are solid white and he is constantly giving off a brief charge of static electricity.

I could google this but I wanted to get the threads input...

I'm in the twin cities for a mini vacation and was thinking about doing a tour at US Bank Stadium. Has anyone done one? Is it worth it? I'm probably not getting out here for a game so this is the next best thing I spose.

Can't say anything about the tour, but an upscale pizza place called Young Joni was really good when I was there, and I'd definitely recommend it.

All kidding aside, Chase to Cincy and Sewell to Detroit was one of those draft instances where it worked out well for both teams.

Joe Burrow still desperately needs protection, though. Hopefully for him, the Bengals signing Orlando Brown Jr. to that huge deal pays dividends.
