Cantrip poison sides are good poo poo. The items that add poison to die faces are very nearly a slam pick for me, especially if I have a juggler or dancer

Is it possible to fill out level 13+ items in the almanac? I got 12 and down with blursed and treasure hunter / shiny. Loot mode looks like it might not allow those blessings though, which makes it much harder to get 13/14. I think 14 and 20 would be impossible, unless there is some other mechanic to get them? Forging doesn't give the almanac entry (Or it didn't the one time I forged a 13).

lol yeah i had an absolute poo poo roll turn 1 and it came down to either let like 3 guys die or let 1 die and let an imp fire off 5 bones. i dont think either choice was good but the one i made definitely didnt work!

ill share some of my thoughts on blursed, i think the post on the last page is very helpful for getting to 100-ish but the advice isnt entirely applicable to super deep runs.

i think the absolute best blessings you can take are game-changing items, ones that can influence the choices you make with respect to the classes and items you take. that particular run started off with a dolphin and it made things like rejuvenation wand, artificer, anything with steel, etc slam dunk picks throughout the run. not an exhaustive list but some other items that come to mind that id take over anything are faerie dust, timestone, triple shuriken, maybe angel feather or dumbbell?

the single most important blessing to get imo is survival specialist+ (the level 8 upgrade). glass cannon builds are simply not good enough after level 100 or so, you're going to be forced into taking enough enemy hp upgrades and added enemies at some point that its not feasible. in the last few loops id say a majority of my fights went to at least turn 3. in fact i randomly got potential as a blessing and was pissed off until it became relevant to save me from a level 4 doom curse multiple times, fights actually went to turn 5 sometimes! upgrading it to level 8 to get the bonus to shields is critical because it's also a buff to preparation and turn 3 heal and anything with steel. it also makes the entire start damaged chain and revive X hp chain (not permadeath though!) basically a free pick due to the efficiency of healing. the second most important is treasure hunter - it makes the cursed items easier to pick because of the extra slot, and maybe most importantly, it opens you to level 10 items, and you really really want a shot at infinity, being able to cast that off leyline might be the only way to beat hexia after the curses pile up barring nonsense broken builds like getting rescue on valkyrie or something.

in general the best blessings are ones that lessen the impacts of the most curses. conversely, the worst curses are the ones you cant mitigate with blessings. things like slow spells or shield response are an automatic run killer.

Shield response is also incredibly annoying, on top of usually being crippling. Just a really irritating thing to have to play around.

There should be a keyword like "Pierce" that makes it so the attack goes through Shields and does damage to HP directly first.

I thought I had managed a 20 turn win (all-blue party Heaven). Turns out it was 23 turns. Did I really forget about 3 turns of gameplay, or is it something else? Does monsters retreating count as a full turn?

Yes monsters retreating take an extra turn. You have to actually kill them on your turn

I don't think you need to take them all out before they act, iirc monsters that kill themselves like fanatics don't count as doing that on turn 2

I think poison too, as long as they don't give you the retreat option

I think the retreat check happens at the start of the new turn (so turn 2) before enemy rolls, where poison and such happens at the end of a turn. Fanatics hurt themselves as resolution of their attack, so it's still within the same "turn 1"

Question: what happens if you get cleave and descend on the same side?

Example: enemies A, B, C, D exist. I attack B with the Eccentric's descend side, to which I have added cleave. Do A and B each take 4 damage and C takes 8 (4 cleave, 4 descend), or does A take 4 (cleave), B and C each take 8 (4 cleave, 4 descend) and D takes 4 (4 descend from C)?

I did have this combo in my last run, but I never rolled it.

Angry Diplomat

I've never gotten that particular combo, but Slice & Dice is really good about providing logical clarity in its keyword descriptions. For instance: Cleave says it also hits either side of the target, while Descend says it also hits below the target. So IMO the expected behaviour would be: you hit the target, and also hit the enemies above and below the target, and also hit the enemy below the target (a second time).

i've gotten two level 13 items from anvil and can confirm that they don't appear in the almanac afterwards

the items were pretty broken and fun though, one of them was "Illegal" which replaced the two left sides with 2 reroll and cleave reuse, and the other was "Ethereal Shroud" which replaced all sides with cloak

I also randomly got a level 50 item called "Bug" which didn't actually do anything (lol)

Yes, there's a "copy achievements" button at the bottom of the unlocks page. Paste the text from your clipboard somewhere you can access from your new phone and use the same page to load achievements.

Cruel Burst + Cleave Burst could be pretty hilarious, but your odds of getting those together are basically nil (I don't think I've ever seen that combination in all my time putting together goofy combos in Heaven difficulty). And if you're playing Blursed you'll eventually get cooldown/single use/no Burst anyway, so uhhhh

Got a pretty cool heaven run that was actually kind of difficult.

"It's barrel time" - 5 damage to adjacent mobs when a mob dies.

Cool right? However it was +25 so needed to be balanced by the -5 "this health must be removed by magic" which was typically near the bottom of the health bar.

The result was you take out one mob, but then you needed enough mana to take out the rest of the other mob's health. Was pretty challenging actually. But I had never seen that blessing before. Unique challenge!

I suspect there are some backend filters on what blessings are available, and locking certain ones out, ie: I've never seen Bolt offered in custom mode, despite tons of experimentation.

I am incredibly annoyed that this item doesn't seem to work properly with the one character that it feels like it's designed for.

You can see here that pain and self heal don't seem to be applied properly. In theory, pain should be applied first and then self heal after it based on the ordering of the keywords, which in effect is the same as canceling each-other out.

Instead the self-heal just does nothing. I assume this is a bug since it makes no sense to me. I didn't check but i assume it's applying the heal before the self-harm which seems silly and not at all what you'd expect.
