Doug Tenapel being a real boomer to artists who are lamenting that the proliferation of AI generated art is making their outlook on their careers look bleak. This culminates to getting rationed by some Pokémon concept artist and in retaliation Doug starts posting nsfw images the other artist drew and calling the guy a groomer.

Yeah, I literally live in a train town. Absolutely none of them carry people anymore. Rails everywhere, freight only.

Also Doug backs NFTS, so who gives a gently caress what he thinks anyway

E: Obviously there's even more significant reasons to not trust his opinion, but even if you can perfectly separate art from artist, he sucks at art opinions too, because he loves NFTs.

In high school, 2000-2004, I was a member of an LGBTQ club which regularly had demonstrations against DADT and the prohibition of same-sex marriage.

That was one of the *least* political groups I was in. The musical my senior year was Ragtime. Try putting on Ragtime apolitically.

I get the sense most people didn't listen to those bands because they were political though. At least by the time I was even close to understanding Rage Against The Machine's politics I was already calling them sellout for being signed to a Sony subsidiary.

Opposite issue: many of them listened to RAtM but just ignored the lyrics or somehow thought it didn’t apply to their specific politics.

There are bands whose lyrics are opaque or subtle enough you can project whatever politics on them.

RATM is not one of those bands.

That's right, too, but that they existed still works against what that goofball racist was stating. Your comment reminds me, as well, of the effect of "even if it was political when I was younger--I didn't notice it therefore it's not political. The new things are woke and political."

Also, classic:

It's easy enough. Every kid I knew in high school that liked them was more into virtuosic guitar playing going "whocka whocka weeeeeeeeeee" while another guy yells "gently caress you".

They went to bands like The Smashing Pumpkins for deep and meaningful lyrics, lol.

I got no beef with RATM anymore. It's good music and I'm too old and into kpop now.
