When fans wanted the ability to play in Japanese, Square's solution was to add another 30GB to the base package of voice acted audio and CG cutscenes re-rendered for Japanese lipsyncing that you had to download whether you wanted to play in Japanese or not. Doom 3 on a 12 megabyte graphics card looks MUCH BETTER than TLOU on an RTX 3080. edit: Seriously though I managed to beat TLOU on my 3080 but I had to run it at 1080p and then DLSS the resolution down to 800p. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FG_My0b3mY A video about CP2077's path tracing mode straight from CDPR instead of Nvidia. There are many more comparisons here, and some performance numbers that are perhaps a bit more honest than what Nvidia's been showing. The 4090 is getting 80 - 90fps with DLSS Performance and FG enabled in some of these scenes.

MarcusSA posted:I saw this deal and had a chuckle Yeah, it depends on if it goes through AMD's verification system or not. I got a code for Company of Heroes 3 with my 5800X3D a few months ago, and to activate the thing it took creating an account on AMD.com, downloading a verification tool, then it let me add that code to my AMD account which then gave me a code to activate on Sega's site which I had to create another account for, which couldn't be used yet because the game isn't out until May. Its a dogshit system with far too many hoops to jump through to stop the end user from reselling the key.

Later today, I'm going to see if using the igpu in my cpu to run Firefox will stop videos playing in it from getting laggy when the dgpu goes under high load. It seems like it should work. The one in the 7000 Ryzen series has h264, hevc, and av-1 decoders, so I shouldn't be losing any capabilities. I tried to see if anyone else has tried this even with Intel cpu's and didn't find anything. I might just be doing something pointless.

Even if DLSS is far better, it's up to studios to actually implement it instead of something similar that reaches far more people. Some huge studios with resources will do it, especially if Nvidia cuts a check and does half the work, but all the excitement anymore is around indies and occasional Mid-Tier releases like Hi-Fi Rush because the large budgets are tied up trying to make "Live Service MMO-Lite With Seasonal Blockchain Rewards" concepts that few customers actually want.Kibner posted:Later today, I'm going to see if using the igpu in my cpu to run Firefox will stop videos playing in it from getting laggy when the dgpu goes under high load. I have two sleep issues (one specifically GPU related). Here's the first: Windows 10 EVGA 3080 5800X3D XB271HU monitor I can't remember if this happened as soon as I put in the 5800X3D, but I don't think it did. My PC would go to sleep when it was supposed to, but when I would wake it up and play a game, my FPS would be unplayable. The GPU clock speed is staying at idle speeds. I then upgraded to Windows 11 and got an AW3423DWF monitor. I ran DDU after hoping that would help with the above issue, but it didn't. I kept on using the PC for another few weeks and then my second issue started. Now my PC does not automatically go to sleep at all which is bad with a new OLED monitor. I tried running powercfg -requests and nothing is running. I've reset the power settings back to default, but no help. Right now I'm in Balanced mode. Any ideas? I'm almost wanting to reformat the whole PC since it might be overdue for that, but I've just been extremely busy lately and that sounds like a huge chore.

Honestly windows blows my rear end when it comes to sleep poo poo. I’ve been dealing with a similar issue for years so now I just put the thing to sleep when I’m done since I can’t rely on windows to do it. Only suggestion I would make is to unplug all your usb devices and see if the problem persists.

I never put my computer to sleep but my Thrustmaster T16000m Joystick setup will straight up not even let my screens turn off for the power saving mode let alone sleep mode if I were to try to use it. I have to unplug it when not using it to play.
