I’m about half way on that catalyst. It’s definitely a slog but worth it in the end. There is a cosmodrome lost sector that gives 4 or 5 heavy bricks at the end. Might be the best way to grind it out.

After the powerful cap, powerfuls will drop at whatever level you’re at so they don’t give any progress*. Oh sorry I worded that poorly. What I mean is, when I am fully pinnacle capped i.e. 1810, what will rando event gear, prime engrams, and powerfuls drop at? Obviously pinnacles will be 1810 e: I see you're saying powerfuls will be 1810 then if I read that right so that's good, I assume rando world stuff will then be 1800 and primes 1810

Took Leviathan's Breath into the Aphelion's Rest LLS today and was reasonably successful with it. The low ammo count on it doesn't give you much room to fool around, but the unstops generally went down in 2-3 hits and bricks dropped fairly frequently. Had to figure out a strategy for the overload hobgoblins, though. I had the overload bow mod from the artifact, but trying to use Leviathan on them tended to trigger their instant retaliatory attack and had a good chance of killing me. I went double-bow and sniped them down with a plain old Raconteur instead (e: a void bow would probably be better, for when the adepts don't cooperate), which didn't trigger that. You might have to approach the first one from the right side so it can't hide out behind a rock to regen. The end is a bit of a slog because of a gazillion thrall and psion spawns, and a handful of ravenous adepts and the last overload hobgob who love to hang out on the ledge and hide behind pillars and rocks when they get hurt. Grenades and supers cleared out the adepts, and you can then ignore the overload if you want, but you do need to kill it for the platinum rewards. The cache code guard goes down fast if you've got spare Leviathan ammo to unload in his face. vvvv Well, guess that explains that! If aphelions rest is still void surge or whatever (or probably even if not) le monarque is bananas in there. If for no other reason than you can just use the overloads and boss as giant poison sprinklers…super easy to hit crits and the trash tends to spawn at/around them. Hipfire for the doubling adept packs too.

thats not actually new to lightfall, but yeah I think the game is just stuck trying to spin up a new instance or something cause you'll have like 5 people all pop in at the same time.

I also gave it a shot on Master, and the big problem there is that there are two overload hobgobs on that ledge now, and you have to kill at least one of them just to spawn the chest code guard. They love to hide behind the main pillar or teleport to behind the slab on the the upper ledge to regen, and if you move to the side to get a shot at one of them there, the second one will start furiously attacking. I'm not sure how much even Le Monarque can help here. I tried for a half-hour to get one of them to stay out in the open by sheer luck, and the closest I got was to knock one down to about half-health, and then quickly got a Leviathan shot in to drop it to near-dead, but then I had to dodge a barrage by the second one and by the time I got back into position, it was hiding and had regened to full, of course... But then I found a spot on the left-hand side of one of the rocks where once they got to a certain spot, it put their AI into constant-freeze-attack mode but the rock blocked the shot, so I was able to plink away while it stood still. Finally killed one of them, the boss spawned, mopped it up without much trouble, took out an unstop that spawned on the ledge just for safety, and grabbed the chest while the remaining overload was hiding. One more Flawless Solo Mastery that I could only get by exploiting the AI...

This game is perfect. Flawless. Incredible. Was working through the Shadowkeep campaign to pick up an exotic and the portal had a little extra treat from the devs tacked on. Portal worked as advertised.

Amused at claim 7 titles for Rank 11. I have only 5, 2 being Raid titles, Conqueror, ~something~ and the only Seasonal I have is splicer because it was a six month season. You'd think I'd get a little extra credit for completing Disciple-Slayer/Kingslayer over some seasonal/collectible driven title. I've got to solo spire for the rank anyway which is all I'm missing for whatever Spire's title is, so that makes six and I'm getting RoN's title so thats 7. It did make me curious as to where I'm at with the others and the only thing I'm missing for VoG's Fatebreaker is the Arc/Solar/Void runs so despite how much I despise VoG I might go back. Ya boy also still needs a Petra's zzz. I'm short 5 exotic catalysts after doing a few hours of the shadowkeep farm. You need 25 and when I started and checked I had only 8 because if its not raid relevant I don't typically do the thing. It was not as bad as I thought but lord, I am glad I didn't Suro-Chi it all. At least you get to move around a bit for shadowkeep. I will say the Guardian Ranks still feel awkwardly implemented and I think there are some rough edges around it, but it is making me engage with a whole bunch of content I do not care about so thats nice to do....once. I want to hit the max the first time just in case they give you something cool like a title or an emblem (or a jacket) but after that I probably won't go out of my way to do anything to make number go up. I also happen to be in a position rn to be able to sink that kind of time so meh.

I lolled when I finally got around to doing a master nightfall for 130K for rank 8 and when I unlocked that I immediately qualified for every rank 9 achievement except doing another master nightfall for 200K

Killer week! Went from 1770 to 1795, ground out all the weeklies that were PvE and matchmaking. Finally got over changing out from my void hunter to strand so I could knock out some quests in Neomuna, and found a great joy in this season’s Iron Banner. Le Monarque and Oathkeepers feel so good, I even got the LM catalyst and am 80% through. D2 scratching all my itches this spring, devs did a great job.

It seemed okay. Shame it's not a speedy nightfall anymore, but it didn't feel particularly egregious to me. Was only doing it on heroic, whats the deal with the last boss? Like yeah you can't nuke him with a single nova bomb or whatever, but it didn't seem like there was that much going on, I shot some weird darkness things but it also didn't seem like his HP was gating that hard and it was nowhere as obnoxious as the last boss of Arms Dealer (or many other strikes.) It doesn't feel like the pubbies I got were anything special either, so I don't think they were doing the heavy lifting. Threshers in the wall section can gently caress off though.

i think the biggest sin of new lake is that it's an autoscroller. it is not possible to make it go faster for the first half, and that just doesn't loving feel good. it especially sucks that the final encounter is in a very sparsely covered area

I like the part where bungie was like "yeah, threshers were made/balanced for tank sections, and started creating problems when we started throwing them in high difficulty nightfalls and places with similar modifiers" I feel like they need a crit spot if they're going to continue being used in foot-based combat because it feels like they take too much to bring down in a fair amount of scenarios, not to mention how many weapons are just ineffective against them either because they live on crits, aren't long range, etc. Like I was doing the nightfall with an AR, Waveframe GL and an LMG, so like, it just feels like I'm either tickling the thresher, or wasting my heavy.
