https://synthanatomy.com/2023/04/leak-timbre-behr-behringers-99-desktop-take-on-the-iconic-akai-timbre-wolf-synthesizer.html This one (4/1) got me pretty good, it didn't seem impossible, Berhinger making weird remakes cheap is believable enough that I briefly got my hopes up and thought "$99? Sure!!" Edit: this was a pretty good troll because it looks like the timber wolfs main problem is being boring and not very dynamic, not sounding bad per se. Cheap enough for a circuit bending excursion. Cabbages and VHS fucked around with this message at 04:19 on Apr 2, 2023 |

Output was lower but just ran a boost after it lol The real gem is leaving the overdrive on and putting the boost before it for when you want a distortion bordering on fuzz.

In the daw plugin world, Audio Assault released a fart pedal plugin and JST put out a plugin with 6 knobs that do absolutely nothing to preserve a mix when the client is watching and says the vibes aren't right.

^ Reminds me of one of Rob Swire's joke plugin ideas that was something like "a param EQ that slowly resets gains back to zero - for times when the client says they need more presence, but they're wrong."

Dude this is the stupid music thread, not the awesome music thread. Yngwie rules, you just have to learn how to appreciate how truly ridiculous of a human being he is and how unbelievably confident and full of himself he is. It's loving fascinating to me that he exists and is real. Wes Anderson could not have invented him if he tried.

One of my teachers used to do something like that with rack gear, there was one preamp that just had a giant unlabeled knob. He wouldn't patch anything through it, but if the A&R rep was getting in the way he'd be like "buddy I really need a hand with this. You gotta turn this knob up every other snare hit, okay?" It'd keep them busy and you could get them to think it was doing whatever they needed to get the vibes right.

well the good news is I cleaned this off and set it aside, and then also that I may actually have insurance coverage on this the bad news is the reason for the insurance coverage It was somewhere off to the side of the remains of that evaporator when the entire building was engulfed in flame. So, we went from sugar house music to the black metal equivalent of things exploding in pyrolytic reactions, I guess. Assuming we rebuild it, probably not going to be until next year... my 50/50 prediction was off by 50%, this year we had a 100% rate of equipment failure, I guess Probably about $500 in music stuff in the claim, which is probably going to be like $25,000, so, not a significant piece of anything.

I'm very sorry that happened. That your Neve console went up in flames like that. A big beautiful Neve console that insurance will have to replace now.

Thanks for the best wishes and sympathy, no humans and as far as I know no animals were injured and so far it sounds like we have full replacement coverage and it's cut and dry, so I am trying to take it in stride the same way I've tried to take it in stride when I've walked away from twisted up cars that, likewise, represented a material loss and a headache but also represented a near death experience that everyone involved got a hall pass for. And, hey, at least I recorded a few samples down there.

I'm slowly but surely using a Metalzone as the basis for my tone now. TS7 in standard overdrive 0/10/10 config. V Metalzone on sensible settings (level around 5, all eqs between 11 and 1 o'clock, gain at about 11 o'clock V NS2 to stop shrieking and hiss. V (cheapass yellow fall delay, a steal for 20 quid) V Blackstar TVP100 head set flat on solid state clean, slight resonance and presence tweaks depending on cab. When I can find the right obsolete USB cable I will check the fx loop on my head is set to the fx loop mode rather than emulated out (the worst cyberpunk hell, fx loop only switchable via usb and software) and try Full Ola. Edit: also, Waves seem to have rescinded their subscription only model. Thank gently caress, I only got their stuff last Black Friday.

Wow, the Neural Amp Modeller is pretty impressive! Spent all afternoon playing with it. Being able to switch from a Vox to Mesa Boogie IV is awesome! I've always struggled with latency so have shied away from amp sims, do people manage to use a 128 buffer, i.e. 8ms of delay? I struggle with lower than 256 which is about 14ms total.
