Latest brawl is really buggy. Had a board clearing card (forget which) yesterday and it displayed the death rattle for every single minion affected after they died. As in, one would die, every minon's borrowed deathrattle would be shown but not triggered, repeat. Took so long that after I ended my turn my opponent didn't get to do anything until the rope started burning. Wife had a brawl this morning where every ghoul they summoned with their hero power somehow had a deathrattle to summon a nightmare.

My gut instinct is that they were going to have her be the free battle pass mercenary for this expansion at some point before the whole mode got shuttered. Given how previous Mercenaries patches have gone, I wouldn't be surprised if they accidentally left the bones of a character in.

I started playing again after a long break, just before the mini set came out. Last time I played, the free decks for new and returning players didn't exist so I don't know much about how they work. I've been avoiding ranking up out of the apprentice ranks because I didn't want to get a deck that was 50% cards that are rotating. Should I expect a new line up of free decks to be added as soon as the expansion launches?

So I haven't played this game since like 2018 but I decided I wanted to get back in after blizzard randomly gifted me 150 packs - 75 standard and 75 march of the Lich king packs. If I wait till the new 'year' starts in a few days before opening the standard packs, will they be from the 'new' Core set? Is there anything I need to know/should do before I ease myself back in? I only care about constructed but I don't mind doing some of the other stuff if it nets me tangible rewards.

The meta will be re-balanced from time to time, they are very good now with their balance changes, a much better game than what you played in 2018.

Other big changes are dailies award exp that go towards a battle pass, which in turn awards gold among other things. There's now weekly quests that give exp as well. There are a ton of keywords that do all sorts of things that you should read about. There are two new classes with short solo prologues that can help you ease into them. There's a ton of single player campaigns that could help you get used to a lot of the new cards and give you a bunch of free packs (each one takes about 60-90 minutes). All the cards that you got from old regular (non-expansion) packs are only useful in a "classic" mode that few people play and is mostly full of bots, so you'd be fine to dust them. Otherwise, if you never got to legend rank, doing so in the classic mode with an aggro warlock deck is the easiest way to do it.
