Nice, I have Notam of Wind OST arriving in a few days! $70 was kind of rough, but I was able to justify it by the fact that I've had the OST on a loop in my office for almost three weeks now.

I got the bowie box, because I figured I'd never be able to get any of them and getting even one of them is a solid move also the triple-LP full-concert live at leeds because i've always been kind of baffled about the track selection for the original single-LP release, even though I like the who in that period

 Not HUGE savings mind you, but add in the 20% discount (not shown in the pic) and it makes those record prices be like... what normal record prices were in 2019. I'll take it. Edit: You know what? Screw it, I'm jumping back in.  Two of those are box sets and it still comes out cheaper than the first purchase. Edit 2:  THEY HAVE NUJABES ALBUMS ON VINYL THIS IS NOT A DRILL

They buy up large amounts of unsold inventory from other retailers at a fraction of the price and pass (some) of the savings onto you.

What do you guys do with defective vinyls? Some of you may remember my trouble last year with a Feist record from an rear end in a top hat on discogs who sent me an obviously defective vinyl with the label mispressed preventing listening to it normally, and he gave me a hard time about getting a refund. Eventually the label printed new copies and I was able to get a replacement that way, and the defective is just sitting on a shelf on my wine cart. Yesterday I got a copy of Magdalena Bay in the mail, and it got damaged during shipping and they're sending me a replacement copy. The damage causes some skipping on the first track, but otherwise it's fine.

If it's a particularly cool album or has particularly cool artwork I frame it. If it's old and ratty, but otherwise playable, I either donate it or gift it to my buddy's kid who's just starting a collection. If it's unplayable dog poo poo I bin it. Alternatives are to make some kitschy artwork or lug it around in a crate every time you move. (I do the latter because I'm a moron.)

I really want a copy of the Raphael Saadiq - The Way I See It that is coming out on Record Store Day. Unfortunately I will be out of town on a wine tasting trip and nowhere near a record store.  I would happily pay anyone that wants to pick me up one if they're already going to RSD for some other goodies! (Or I'll just buy from a re-seller, nbd. Thought it was worth a shot, though!)

Get On Down will be the company that puts it out. They put out a limited 500 copy colored repress last summer that sold out in a day. I had emailed Get On Down since I missed it and they told me they would be doing a run on black vinyl as well after Record Store Day. That record is such a jam.

Got my first shipment from importCDs and they arrived amazingly fast and without damage. I still can't believe some of those box set prices.  These all came out to $90. I ended up placing another $60 order that hasn't arrived yet. I probably should have got the Bowie set too but I can't bring myself to care that much about 90s Bowie.

I got mine today and I'm amazed at how well it was packed and how quickly it got here. They actually sent me two of an album I ordered one copy of and reached out to them in the name of karma to see if they want me to send it back.
