Reminder for CC: on the Clockwork map with where people tend to set up you're not pushing the crystal at the start, you're pulling it. That means if you get caught up fighting the enemy team away from the crystal one person can slip in and pull it towards their goal, leaving you trying to catch up.

Actually, the door leading towards mid is a straight up trap. No room to run, doesn't actually get you to mid any faster. If you can get your team to follow you, jump through the gate to your midpoint instead to catch the other team without an easy out. Otherwise, just walk to mid through the flip floors.

I think that Frontlines is a lot more enjoyable than Crystal Conflict in Final Fantasy Online. The large-scale battles involving multiple teams of players in Frontlines create a more immersive and dynamic experience, making me feel like I'm part of an epic conflict. Additionally, the different objectives and strategies required in Frontlines add to the excitement, whether it's capturing and holding key locations or escorting important NPCs. On the other hand, while Crystal Conflict can be fun, I find that it can quickly become repetitive due to its smaller teams and limited objectives, which often makes matches feel over before they've even begun. Moreover, Frontlines offers three different modes, each tailored to different gameplay styles, which adds to its diversity. In conclusion, if you're looking for a more exciting PvP mode, I'd recommend giving Frontlines a try.

Both can be exciting when going well (which doesn't just mean "you're winning"), both are miserable when going badly. The advantage of CC is that numbers are small enough it feels you can do something to contribute. The downside of CC is that numbers are small enough it feels like your fault. I've had amazing Frontlines matches where everyone's really close and the match ends with people within 50 points of each other so every time you managed to stall people for a few seconds or cap a node out from under a brawl feels like the key moment, and I've also had matches where everyone just decides to beat on you for the whole game and there's no way to break out of it. I enjoy Frontlines the most when I'm running with a few friends, we can celebrate the small wins and mourn the setbacks together. When CC goes badly at least it's over quick, there isn't time to marinate in the badfeels.

I think if they added a mode where you could queue CC with friends instead of having to queue at the same time I would enjoy it more. Also ranked not having any new rewards kills any drive to even queue it up instead of Frontline.

The main reason they don't is that even a mild degree of coordination in a mode like CC gives you a substantial advantage, and enough games of people being pitted against what feels like an insurmountably coordinated team, even in casual modes, is going to drive everyone except party queues away, and having a party queue exclusive mode will split what's already a smaller playerbase apart. PVP modes in MMOs, by necessity, have to be lean.

I can't think of a single thing someone could maybe call good about Frontlines that isn't also true about Rival Wings, which has far less 'but's about it. Well, except that Rival Wings doesn't give you the Field Commander's Coat. EDIT: Vermain posted:The main reason they don't is that even a mild degree of coordination in a mode like CC gives you a substantial advantage, and enough games of people being pitted against what feels like an insurmountably coordinated team, even in casual modes, is going to drive everyone except party queues away. Also, the moment you introduce organized parties into a mode like this it turns into Match-Fixing Heaven. Which might not have been what killed the Feast depending on who you ask, but definitely stopped it being revived.

PVP modes in MMOs, by necessity, have to be lean. When I sync queue with friends for casual we don't really coordinate differently then we would when playing solo so I never really thought how group queues would just force people to play in groups or get rekt. So yeah, that logic seems right and group queues would probably be a bad thing which kinda sucks for me.

I still have to do about 25 matches of the Frontline mode that's going away to get the last node achievement. It sucks but it's going to nag me forever if I don't.

Just set to eternally argue whatever position they're programmed with. And they'll eventually just start arguing back and forth at each other long after the human race dies out. A few trillion years from now as the universe settles into eternal cold, all that will remain are a few sweaty bots yelling about Star Wars casting, Star Trek captains, and if Emet Selch did nothing wrong.

Honestly it feels like I've got a significant number of games in the clockwork map where the team straight up gets lost. As in, the enemy team is pushing the crystal and for some reason my team groups up waiting for them at the wrong goal. They're not chasing anyone or anything, they're just....standing there. It's really poo poo map design for that to be consistently happening imo

Any decent theories on who (6.2) golbez is? Keep in mind i havent even started 6.3 yet and only just done 6.2, but that was the watcher on the moon he killed right in that flashback? At least the watcher of the 13th. If we are following ff4 then theres gotta be a connection to the current cast. I figure the 13th version of zodiark is zeemus but hes gone now so... Ive been thinking that it might he zero's mother or at the very least, this worlds azem. (It feels like zero might be tho?) Had a wild thought it might esteniens brother because dragon and voice but lol maybe not. Then again if 6.4 has a trial there is 1000% chance azdaja is used as an attack cos thats what he has in ff4. Feels more like the relation will be to zero tho Im wondering tho if its all a red herring, like the moon is made of light aether right (looks like the empty, keeps zodiark bound) what if golbez plans to actually fix the 13th themselves by crashing the 13ths moon into the void and the expansion is exploring the semi-fix 13th like shb? My favorite theory and the one I'm hoping for, although I don't know close it is, is that he's an eidolon/primal from the Contramemoria, who just... can't die now, because even if he runs out of aether, well, what happens? Perhaps he wants every voidsent to leave the Thirteenth because, even if he can't die in any conventional way, maybe he can die if every single person who believes he even EXISTS is gone.

Just think, if you were a dragoon, you wouldn’t even be getting the first part of your class gauge until level seventy something.
