sorry i hate doing stuff like this i hope this isnt mod voice lol.

yeah I think it was a lot of things and the most recent event was the final 100 straws that, in the admin's eyes, meant he had to be demodded. someone's pii getting accidentally (or god forbid, deliberately) released or even referenced inappropriately should be treated as massively important because, unlike bans or probes, you can't walk it back. people are weird on the internet, and any pii can be used by someone savvy with computers to dig up specific details like their name, face, place of work, family, address, etc. No one had info like that shared in this instance, but it happened with radia and she was right to tap out in response.

if someone doxxes you, they can easily destroy your entire life. they can email or call your boss, send obvious jokes to the police or FBI, report you for other things, share your doxx with crazy psychos who will do those things, find where your partner works, drive to your house, know where your kids go to school, etc. even minimal effort from a doxxer can ruin your poo poo, so when someone gets doxxed it's loving terrifying. even just a brief flash of someone's real name or email address might get caught by a deranged shithead who hates you (or maybe just wants to gently caress with you!).

anyway, that poo poo needs to be taken as seriously by us as it is by the people who might get doxxed. leon did not doxx anyone or do something that led to someone getting doxxed like fritz, but i understand why the response was demodding. this is basically the most important thing we do here, and we just gotta be careful to not gently caress it up

so I've been informed by a reliable source of three threads I should check out that were peak creative goon. They are:

1. Terra Malorta, some sort of weird furry commune?

2. Seasteading thread, which also devolved into light fiction

3. Glen Beck theme park thread

Looking at it now, they all involve libertarians. Apparently they bring out the creativity in goons. Anyway, does someone have links to these threads?

The ability to say 'well that was a bad call, sorry folks' and fix it is maybe the most important one as any kind of moderator anywhere I reckon. And the ability to not let that get you all upset. also, one question - how did you generate those insane walls of text? can it be taught or is it an inate ability? i'd like some advise on the skill/talent - i have characterisation exercises to do, and i want them to go more successfully than foodpie's.

Ugh, everything I write to try to answer this ends up sounding gay as heck so bear with me.

The best way I found was to take a bunch of unfounded statements like "gold is money" or "America is doomed if Ron Paul doesn't win" or "Ron Paul hat immer recht" and to treat them as if they're logically consistent with each other and unfalsifiably true. Then all you have to do is interpret events in the world in a way that attempts to brings them into line with those assumptions. The original statements don't have to be that extreme but you don't have to do this long before you're having to come up with more and more twisted and paranoid logic to explain why your premises are correct and what's actually taking place in reality is wrong.

To give one example: if it's assumed that the media is biased against Ron Paul and that this bias exists because the NWO overlords who are behind the media fear him so much then as the stories about him get worse and worse that actually means his chances are getting better and better. Since the MSM's role isn't to inform but rather to condition its audience then the stories that run in it aren't about what's true or false but are a reflection of the will of its unseen political masters. Any positive stories about Ron Paul that get run can be dismissed as token and just window dressing to maintain the illusion of impartiality. At the same time anything negative the media says about Ron Paul must automatically be false because of the interest it has in him being defeated. It means that when something like Dr. Paul's line in demented, paranoid newsletters comes to light what's actually happening is he's being subjected to more and more extreme propaganda attacks. And since it wouldn't make sense to be attacking him like this if his chances were declining or staying the same then it must be because "they" know he's on the verge of making that final electoral breakthrough and they're doing everything they can to stop him. And the more elaborate and detailed and comprehensive the evidence against Ron Paul is the more that shows how well he's doing: he's so dangerous to the international finance cabal behind the media that they'd run the risk of forging literally thousands of documents just to try to stop him.

You only have to start by saying traditional polling methods consistently undercount Ron Paul's voters because they don't have landlines to ultimately end up advocating that Wolf Blitzer should have his throat cut on live TV ~pour encourager les autres~. The fun is getting from one to the other and bringing the reader with you.

I'm not sure if I'm just stating the bleeding obvious here, but it wasn't more complicated than that.

I BLAME PATRIARCHY posted:

TT how did you get the idea for the famous TT triangle??

The whole triangle theme was a complete fluke. I never named my account TobleroneTriangular because I had some long-standing plan to incorporate sacred geometry into what I was doing, I just though it had a nice ring to it. But in answer to your question I wanted to make some kind of "helpful" diagram to explain the idea of natural/unnatural rights that I was banging on about and I wanted it to be just evocative enough of a kind of underlying mental instability or monomania that it made people begin to think there was something more going on here than a legitimate, rational appreciation for Ron Paul and the gold standard and all the rest.

However at this time I wasn't linking the diagram I was trying to come up with with my name. I was actually trying to do something with the Star of David so as to play up my latent "issues with Jews" stat and I wasn't really having much luck when it came to me in a flash: what is the Star of David anyway? Two triangles. Triangles. Toblerone Triangular. Holy poo poo. From that point on I knew exactly what I had to do. And I do remember thinking I had to get the diagram just right because if I managed to pull this off then it would be being emptyquoted back at me for the rest of time. I knew if anything was going to be my trademark then this was it so it had to perfect, jpeg artifacts and everything.

It will not be doctrinaire, nor even logical. It will abolish the House of Lords, but quite probably will not abolish the Monarchy. It will leave anachronisms and loose ends everywhere, the judge in his ridiculous horsehair wig and the lion and the unicorn on the soldier's cap-buttons. It will not set up any explicit class dictatorship. It will group itself round the old Labour Party and its mass following will be in the trade unions, but it will draw into it most of the middle class and many of the younger sons of the bourgeoisie. Most of its directing brains will come from the new indeterminate class of skilled workers, technical experts, airmen, scientists, architects and journalists, the people who feel at home in the radio and ferro-concrete age. But it will never lose touch with the tradition of compromise and the belief in a law that is above the State. It will shoot traitors, but it will give them a solemn trial beforehand and occasionally it will acquit them. It will crush any open revolt promptly and cruelly, but it will interfere very little with the spoken and written word. Political parties with different names will still exist, revolutionary sects will still be publishing their newspapers and making as little impression as ever. It will disestablish the Church, but will not persecute religion. It will retain a vague reverence for the Christian moral code, and from time to time will refer to England as ‘a Christian country’. The Catholic Church will war against it, but the Nonconformist sects and the bulk of the Anglican Church will be able to come to terms with it. It will show a power of assimilating the past which will shock foreign observers and sometimes make them doubt whether any revolution has happened.

But all the same it will have done the essential thing. It will have nationalized industry, scaled down incomes, set up a classless educational system. Its real nature will be apparent from the hatred which the surviving rich men of the world will feel for it. It will aim not at disintegrating the Empire but at turning it into a federation of Socialist states, freed not so much from the British flag as from the money-lender, the dividend-drawer and the wooden-headed British official. Its war strategy will be totally different from that of any property-ruled state, because it will not be afraid of the revolutionary after-effects when any existing régime is brought down. It will not have the smallest scruple about attacking hostile neutrals or stirring up native rebellion in enemy colonies. It will fight in such a way that even if it is beaten its memory will be dangerous to the victor, as the memory of the French Revolution was dangerous to Metternich's Europe. The dictators will fear it as they could not fear the existing British régime, even if its military strength were ten times what it is.
