Nightmare Cinema posted:G14 was fine the 1st time around but I haven't been able to sit through it again without getting bored. KotM was a mess but I had a good time. Godzilla vs. Kong was dope but had a lot of distractingly hokey vfx shots. Shin Godzilla loving rules. Also Skull Island is dumb as hell and I loved every stupid minute of it. I know I saw KOTM and GvK but I don't remember much of either besides giant monsters fighting.

Shin Godzilla is very good but gets a bit long in the tail between the middle and the climax IMO. 1954 Godzilla is basically a perfect film.

Say what you want about the Monsterverse but they definitely manage some kickass visuals. The Godzilla 2014 trailer with the HALO jump comes to mind. Also some of the discourse about 2014 was lol, like some poster picking up on a blatantly obvious framing theme of the movie and calling it a 'mistake they keep making'.

So I watched Renfield and it is a fun, albeit slight, movie. The over the top action is fun but the story has some dips as well as a big (scene missing) issue where the main characters are running from the bad guys and it just cuts to Awkwafina waking up in a new location.

Craig is a legitimately talented actor who was clearly having so much fun whenever he wasn't playing Bond that it makes me sad he spent so much time making movies that turned out to be not very good, overall. See also that interview where he was asked if a woman should play James Bond and he was like, "no, nobody should play james bond"

When are they going to make a movie about that one variety of vampire that only sucks blood out of your feet, so the only way to defeat it is for two people to sleep in the same sleeping bag but pointed in opposite directions so that when the vampire tries to suck feet they discover a head so when they go to the other end of the bag they discover another head and they have a divide by zero error thinking the person in the sleeping bag has heads at either end and no feet and dies. Tarantino would love it.
