Reliable reports from the imperial Russian warship Kamchatka indicate Japan already has a significant presence in the north Atlantic.

So with what exactly are you and yours going to stop the Ukrainians with, Pigozhin? the Wanker SS has mostly gone the way of the dodo in Bakhmut, Zaporizhzhia oblast is mostly crewed by green mobiks, and mighty Russia is now down to early cold war era tanks and weird technicals. You might try getting the air force to fly mass CAS missions, but then all that's going to lead to is the decimation of the air force too, given the amount of MANPADs in Ukrainian service.

dont the russians have cruise missiles that can (theoretically) hit the yards near the border (on the ukrainian side) where nato arms are being routed? they aren't doing that for some reason. im assuming the same reasoning, whatever it is, would make the russians less than inclined to attack foreign ships openly bound for odessa. i suppose they might try to board them instead, which brings up the notion of escort, which nato nations presumably wouldnt do for fear of escalation. could a non-nato nation try it? this is all wildly hypothetical of course, and perhaps risks clancy chat. but i was wondering about it

It's a good thing that Russian propagandists don't have actual pull on Russian strategy. They won't do anything that stupid.

Famous last words.

I'll give it an even chance that either:
1) Russia's constant baiting of NATO (the pipeline destruction, the drone harassing, etc) eventually goes too far, or
2) Ukraine suffers a serious setback, which makes it unlikely that they will ever be able to get a decent resolution to the war.

Which will cause NATO to enter the war directly. Putin is a yapping little dog, he's never going to use nukes if war is contained to Ukraine and it's immediate surrounds.

NATO is a defensive alliance. NATO will not enter the war in a boots on the ground way unless Russia hits first. Sure, NATO is unified in the idea that Russia is a threat, but they are absolutely not unified in what should be done about it. If a NATO member were directly attacked by Russia, then the problem becomes trivial since the attacked country would invoke Article 5, if it were a big enough attack. That said, NATO is going to do everything it can to avoid getting pulled into the war directly, as nobody really knows what happens when nuclear powers come to blows directly.

You seem to have pretty funny ideas about what NATO will do in a given situation. Only the most dire of predictions involve an attack on NATO, Ukraine getting loving rolled all the way to the Polish border is not enough to get NATO to enter, as there would still be NATO members in disagreement on what to do, as they are not treaty obligated to respond and support Ukraine if it's losing the war in a major way. The instant a Russian BTG wanders across the border into Lithuania or Poland, or Sergei the Drunken Fighter Pilot accidentally bombs Kraków, then it's on like Donkey Kong, but until then, it's not happening.
