I don't think so, no.

Everything they've posted will eventually come out, just further in the future. So probably not until 2025 given that this KS is slated for fulfillment in June 2024.

Of course, Catalyst sticking to their timeframes is incredibly optimistic.

Next few weeks; possibly within the next 48-72 hours, from a comment on the finale stream. They want it sooner rather than later so they can tell Liya what needs to be prioritized for production.

They will not. On the finale stream, they mentioned that the Somerset pack and the Blood Asp will be available in the BackerKit pledge manager as add-ons, but they won't be included for free, even if the overall pledging goes above $8m.

Is it better to specialize lists or general all rounders?

Trying to build an 8k list for tomorrow, and deciding whether to bring assaults and mediums, or a bunch of heavies.

List 1: Nightstar/King Crab 000b/Wraith/Wraith/Heavy LRM carrier
List 2: Archer 2K/Flashman-9C/Awesome-9Q/Crab-27b/Penetrator-6S

Same amount of units, but the damage output is spread out a lot more.

List 1 I imagine the crab gets focused unless I hide it while the wraiths become a general nuisance and screen the heavy LRM carrier and nightstar.
List 2 Everything just moves across the map shooting.

They're both neat but I'd be remiss in not recommending the command with black knight, highlander, and king crabe.

If you don't have many clan mechs then I would recommend picking up another clan star box. The Striker Star has light and mediums that will allow for more force composition flexibility if you want to pit them against your IS mechs.

Edit - while it's fun having lots of 3D printed stuff I am starting to get slightly annoyed by all the globby detail on some of the models.

Also there isn't a nice 3D Mad Cat which is what I *really* want.

Comstar Level 2 has some really cool mechs in it; Highlander, Black Knight, and King Crab.

All the kids in my board game club currently love the King Crab. Just had a kid pick up that lance pack using allowance (Although he was specifically after his own personal black knight).

This is the correct answer to literally any question about if buying a box is a good idea. Wanna run those specific mechs? Great! Just want more random mechs to use? That works too!

You'll end up owning multiples of everything eventually anyway, so just accept it and buy what you like.

I will say that the King Crab is one of my favorite Assaults to play with. I'm not sure I can call it one of the best, but it nudges you into a pretty fun and risky playstyle; your best bet is to try to get in close and maximize the accuracy of your AC/20s because your ammo is so limited. It's really quite fun, and most effective against other big, slow 'Mechs.

I love the KGC. It either does a bunch of damage, or tanks a bunch of damage and lets my other units go unmolested.

Usually a bit of both.

I usually run the KGC-000b for the extra ammo. Do y'all just run the normal KGC and save the extra 100 or 200 points?

Does one try to match clan forces in pilot skill (as in upgrade to 3/4 pilots) or just go with 4/5s and use a numbers advantage?

Got absolutely wrecked by a dual stormcrow + timberwolf + battlecobra force.

Wraiths and king crab got gunned down by Clan Pulses and skill 2 pilots, their high movement made the long range fire ineffectual.

I usually just play with 3/4 all the way across the board rather than loving with piloting skill. Gunnery 3 is where I think the sweet spot for the game sits.

It�s almost always better to have more numbers. It�s more activations at shooting, and more forces for the enemy to disable

I generally go for numbers advantages, because you can do an awful lot by spreading out and denying them the ability to keep everything at range.
