One time the normal recycled toilet paper was sold out so I grabbed some weird ~artisanal climate neutral toilet paper~ made from 100% domestic trees and straw fibers and it was like using sand paper. I think I build up enough callous after a week cause the bleeding stopped and I was able to finish up the whole pack but it was still a horrible experience. Everybody else refused to use it. I can't imagine the horror of using raw wood fibres and splinters. The Russian people are truly suffering under the Putin regime.

Thing to remember about all chinese propaganda and posturing: they want to try and test the waters and get global indifference on their side to try and take taiwan without more than a slap on the wrist. Its why they were looking super hard like they were going to actually do it (the madmen) at the start of the Ukraine invasion proper and stopped when the international community started providing serious kit to them. The USAs real motive as this as well - they do not want china annexing taiwan, and the Ukraine situation is essentially a proxy of this: letting russia take ukraine weakens any argument against china taking taiwan substantially. And that would be seriously against the USAs interests in the way ukraine, realistically speaking, isnt.
