I disagree. She doesn't have a look of childlike innocence, she looks serious but afraid. Perhaps out of her depth

one complaint i had about D1NC was you didn't get to see that much of characters that weren't Jess and Paul. looking forward to lots of Stilgar and hopefully a decent helping of Gurney. where's Thufir tho.

uber_stoat posted:having Gurney personally whack the Beast would kick rear end. I bet that's what we're getting. Those promotional stills seem like they're from the same battle scene, and it would be a nice cap to Gurney's arc since the first character development we see of him in part 1 is him grabbing Paul and screaming in his face about how much he hates Harkonnens. He's the Atreides military commander, I bet he's pissed at how many of his men Rabban personally decapitated, and 100% is going to return the favour. (Is the scene with Rabban's head presented to the Baron actually in the book, or just something from the Lynch film? Or was that Nefud's dome?)

That's what the wiki says, but unless I'm misremembering we don't 'see' it happen, just his head presented to the Baron afterwards. I wonder who's going to kill the Baron in part 2, do we have an Alia yet?
|
# ? Apr 28, 2023 00:04 |
they laid the groundwork for alia but much like the rest of the poo poo they cut that’s such a weird thing to try and explain to have it mean anything

Mister Speaker posted:That's what the wiki says, but unless I'm misremembering we don't 'see' it happen, just his head presented to the Baron afterwards. The severed head thing is Lynch. Rabban kind of disappears from the story after the baron sends him back to Arrakis, doesn't he? I'm not sure if we hear how he dies even. Stilgar just announces he's dead near the end, before the final throwdown. Maybe mentioned in one of the other books?

Also Gurney's grudge against Rabban goes way back, he was a Harkonnen slave and Rabban scarred his face. They are gonna fight

I will tell you a thing about your new name. The choice displeases us. Muad'Pug is stupid in the ways of the desert. Muad'Pug leaks his own water. Muad'Pug lays in the sun and can't travel without wheezing.
