Honolulu passed an ordinance or something that mandates Reef Safe Sunscreen but 90% of the coral on the coasts of Oahu is dead already. hot water killed all the coral and low-salinity water from urban runoff kills 100% of larva, so it isn’t coming back either. no one has ever seen living coral though, so people assume the barren rocks with one or two emaciated tropical fish nearby is the coral, and they wrongly believe we are Doing Something. it’s too late
