ESPN or ESPN2 used to show a simulcast of TSN or whatever network airs it in Canada during like late July or early August when the only major sport on would be baseball or maybe preseason NFL games. I’d always randomly see it every year and maybe put part of a game on in the background now and then.

Howard suffers from the same thing all of us eventually succumb to, the game changed and he couldn't keep up. His moniker King of All Media always felt hollow to me because he didn't take the internet seriously when it was being a game changer even in the early days (BTW, the WWW portion just turned 30 as a public domain platform). He's a radio legend (even if I thought O&A were better) and had some success in Film, TV and Books but time has rendered his core platform irrelevant with radio only useful for sports and bashing Democrats. Let him have his millions of dollars but his cultural influence ended on October 6, 2004; The day he announced he was leaving for Sirius. He bet satellite radio was the future and he was wrong when podcasts became the main audio platform and even then the pod in podcast is now irrelevant too. The new influencers haven't grown up listening to him and barely know he exists in the present. They weren't born in the 20th century and 9/11 only exists in history. I loathe TikTok since it's ultimately owned by the CCP but right now, it's the dominant platform and that's where the influence is until something else comes along.
