Horford is such a liability against a small ball lineup. He was hunted relentlessly by guards, similar to the finals series, and kept accepting switches like he wouldn't be torched. Team worst -17 and the game winner over his head. Also chucked several bad threes in the second half. RWIII is so much better defending anyone who weighs less than 250 pounds. He must be on a really tight minutes restriction still.

RealGM says they got their own firsts and then Golden State will convey their first to them sometime between 2024 and 2026 and that's it for first rounders, so that must be talking about all the possible picks they could give up if they did something like what the Wolves did for Gobert. Given where they're at and the window they have, it's not the worst idea to trade them away for help now. Given where they're gonna be picking, they're not going to get win-now help, so they're either looking at picking up low ceiling rotation players or raw talent who is going to need a lot of playing time to turn into something useful (if they ever do).

do you think there's any possible draft compensation that the first drafting team would accept to trade out? like if Memphis offered all five 1s and three swaps could they put Wemby next to Ja, or is he just that valuable of a prospect

If I were a team owner I would not trade Wemby for Giannis. Wemby has a higher upside and is younger and cheaper.

Absolutely not, not even in a draft like 2013 where there wasn't a consensus number one pick. Barring injury, you're generally looking at the floor of a number one pick being a rotation player, with them being a solid starter as a reasonable expectation, even if they don't turn into a superstar. Down where Memphis will be picking, you're looking at either four year guys who probably have rotation player as a reasonable ceiling or one and done guys who are all potential and they're as likely to not have their rookie option picked up as turn into an everyday NBA player. Could it happen? Sure. If we had a year where there was no consensus top pick, think maybe 2021 if it didn't have Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley or the 2013 draft where it was just wide open, but that then raises questions of why a team would want to give up all that for what is available.
