When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.

It's probably always going to be like this when his defensive responsibility is as high as it is.

I hope not.

Yeah, LeBron just doesn't want to be the primary ball handler and the Lakers can't trust D'Lo to not just dial his own number up every time if he's the primary ball handler.

The day to day nature of the playoffs is just amazing, I know the optics of game 2 are worrying for the Lakers but at the same time a split is literally an amazing outcome for them considering how bad the dubs have been on the road, even in the playoffs.

It's arrogant to expect to beat the defending champs twice in a row at home. Lakers got the one win they needed. I don't need to see AD go hard every game, just as long as he goes hard enough to win 4 out of 7.

Yeah, Lakers weren't winning game 2 regardless. It's a little concerned they got blown out but they have time to reset. They have a real good shot at winning games 3 and 4 and then they basically have a layup to the WCF.

If Warriors steal one of the Lakers home games then I think the series favors Warriors in 6.

gsw has been 2 of 4 on the road in the playoffs, regular season road record thus far has been a nonpredictive criterion

Lakers should've planned for a 7 game series and rested AD and Bron the even games so they can go hard for 44+ minutes in the other four.

Davis has been the best defensive player in the playoffs, on a team that desperately needs him to be that, so like yeah it would be nice if he was offensively consistent but he's consistent in the area where it really matters to his team; they should be able to get points from other spots when he can't bring it there. The catalyst for the Lakers going from being up 9 to trailing was the two minutes AD sat and during that point the Warriors offense was rolling way to well to be put back in the bottle.

People acting like offense is all that counts though despite all the evidence otherwise is nothing new so I don't know why I even bother v:shobon:v

AD is doing what he does and not doing what he doesn't. It results in games like the last two. He plays wonderful defense and is the only player on the Lakers with the size, athleticism, and knowledge/instinct to cover for so many weak defenders on the roster.

His offense comes and goes. He is one of the best garbage men in the history of the game, so if the Lakers can get shots up on the rim and draw away defenders so that multiple Warriors aren't boxing him out, he will feast on the offensive glass.

His jumper being 50/50 shouldn't surprise anyone at this point. Neither should his lack of ability to punish defenses with the ball in his hands in the way you would expect a #1 option to. That's not and has never been his game. He can sometimes do a good spin move, drive-by, or turnaround baseline jumper, but only vs 1v1 defense. You send two guys at him and he will either kick it back out or try to do something he isn't super comfortable with. He's improved greatly at passing out of double teams but not to the point that you predicate your offense around his post game.

He's an incredible player, but needs an offense to be structured and executed in a certain kind of way to make full use of his offensive skills. Defensively, he's very much plug and play and lifts the Lakers defense a huge amount. Gobert-esque kind of floor lifting.

a new study bible!
