It feels like when you're playing the 2K games and you try to do a cool combo but keep having to stop and reposition cause the timing/animation doesn't really flow together

In one of the early Smackdown games, my brother and I noticed that Tajiri's Buzzsaw Kick briefly puts the opponent into a "dazed" state after they turn around, just because they fall to the ground. We worked out the timing and positioning to do a tag team finish where I'd do the Buzzsaw Kick and they'd turn around right into a Test Big Boot from my brother. It loving owned.

It's probably supposed to be a buckshot lariat thing where it feels like the flip should add more kinetic force despite physics not working that way. But when the other guy has to be in the ropes before you start the move it just adds too many steps and the match loses momentum.

Still, it could be a cool spot for a tag match. Your partner gets the other guy in the ropes and tags you in, you're already in position so you can go straight to doing a cool jumping suplex, it'd be a neat moment. But it's just weird in a singles match.

Yeah it's perfectly cromulent as a tag spot but doe not work in a singles match.

I could have sworn it was the other way around. That they did all the firings first so they could go into the meeting talking about all the reductions in their operating expenses.

Stuff like this is a wrestling pet peeve of mine

Hot take: Komander's top rope walk is lame as hell because even with massive suspension of disbelief it makes no sense in kayfabe at all; in a fight if your opponent is down why would you waste time/energy walking a tightrope for no reason then attacking someone

See also: Undertaker's rope walk, any rope walk

I'm all for flashy moves and high flying stuff, it's what makes wrestling fun, but stuff like that is so obviously just adding a gymnastics move for no reason it just takes me out of the match mentally

It's like a skateboarding game. The sicker the theatrics before a move the more multiplier you get for damage.

It's why the Batista bomb was so powerful, the two thumbs down was cool as gently caress.

I mean, think of it this way: why did Michael Jordan take free throws with his eyes closed? showing off in unnecessary ways is a part of real sports too. I just never assume they're trying to imply it makes it more powerful, just an athlete being a showoff

zombie undertaker doing a ropewalk is goofy tho, undertaker is the most overrated Legend by a mile

Slightly modified this would be a perfect "Hot Tag" move. Instead of jumping outside, have his partner make the tag, he does the rest of the move and boom, the crowd is more hyped for the comeback. But for a singles match, too convoluted.

I mean, Kommander is at least gaining momentum and height with his rope walk move, old school always looks bad and the only wrestler that can pull it off is Neko Haruna, because she is a cat

I'm not interested in constructive criticism, believe me.
if your move is cool or impressive enough, logic doesn't matter. the problem is jumping to the apron and then back in to do a german is not very cool looking or impressive.

The thing with Kommander's rope walk is it's definitely cool enough to pass the suspension of disbelief threshold once, but he'll just do the exact same spot three times in one 12 minute match at which point the cracks in the logic really start to show.
