Only problem with slip lanes is that they add yet another intersection for people to cross on foot. Which sounds fine if you're able-bodied, not so much when you need to use a walking frame/wheelchair/etc and especially not when it's a busy intersection.

Yeah that’s the most hosed thing about Sydney IMO. If you want to drive basically anywhere it costs you a fortune in tolls. At least in Brisbane although we have a couple of Toll Bridges and tunnels they’re all shortcuts with perfectly reasonable alternative routes that just take 10 mins longer. In Sydney it’s almost impossible to avoid tolls, your 20 min journey would become a 90 min one if you tried.
