There used to be this mystique about actors where it seemed like they lived in this secret world and had access to secret knowledge, and many of their quirks were taken in stride as part of that.

Then came social media and we could all see they're just as dumb and crazy as the rest of us, often moreso.

The recent season 3 opening episode of The Other Two has some great bits about this. Actually that might be the first time I've seen covid comedy.

This is one of the absolutely most frustrating things. She hyperstarted the entire antivaxx movement and made it her whole loving personality for over a decade only to be "punished" by given a prime judge role on a hit show.

There are very few more disgusting individuals than Jenny McCarthy.

What’s hilarious/sad is that 10 years ago being anti-vax was something most conservative types would have rightfully sneered at, in a stopped clock kind of way, as being for dumb people from California.

If Jackie Chan could time travel from the late 90s and make this with current John Cena, I'd be excited. As it is, it looks like some producer saw Fury Road, went 'I want to do a thing like that' and worked backwards from there as other producers yelled out films they liked.

Also, yeah, Expendables 4 is due out this year, nine years after the last entry in the series. The guy also directed 'Act of Valor,' an impressively uninteresting action film who's gimmick was starring real life Navy SEALs. I only remember it because it was, absurdly enough, part of a political awakening for me.

Act of Valor also had tons of scenes with people interacting who were blatantly on set at different times. If I recall most of the action scenes were filmed as part of some Navy promotion that wasn't meant for public release and they decided to try to put a movie around them. Emilio Rivera shows up at the end as some cartel leader and it doesn't even look like he is in the same country when he is firing at the seals

Oh hey it got a new title again.

I posted a bit about this movie a while back in the action movie thread.

First it was called Project X, then SNAFU and now Hidden Strike.

It was filmed in 2018 and then just got shelved for unknown reasons.
