I don't think this has been posted before.

quote:

Pro Racing Driver Describes Tesla Model S Plaid As "Dangerously Fast And Unstable"

Racer and driving instructor Misha Charoudin recently took a stock Model S Plaid to the Nurburgring to put it through its paces. He recorded the entire experience, with his friend also behind the wheel at various stages.

While the pair were immediately impressed with the Plaid's acceleration, Charoudin noted its seats weren't quite up to scratch and it was easy to be flung around when driving at high speeds. Furthermore, he felt the Yoke steering wheel was too big and clumsy.

However, the duo's main concerns were the brakes and suspension. On the Model S in the video, the brakes had to be changed before it was taken onto the track again as the owner deemed the stock ones unsafe. As for the suspension, Charoudin stated that the car lost balance when it wasn't driving in a straight line and couldn't corner well. The suspension also failed to handle bumpy surfaces, and overall the vehicle was prone to "unpredictable movements".

Yup! The FTC forced Twitter to institute verification as part of their compliance scheme over a decade ago. Thanks to Mudge's whistleblowing, we know the company's been lying to the FTC about a lot of their conduct basically the entire time, so one might assume they're just looking for an excuse to bring the hammer down on Twitter again

The reason the FTC cared was because celeb names were being appropriated to run scams, do fake promos, etc., so while there's no doubt that compliance has gone to poo poo, Twitter won't get sued because of a parody AOC account...at least now that it's been labeled as such. Stupid political "takes" is outside of their jurisdiction.

What will raise the FTC's hackles will be the first blue check scam using someone's name that steals a bunch of money. Surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Funnily enough I think he would also find the backstory of Creatures 2 relatable, because the unseen scientists hosed off in a spaceship and left their pet Norns behind to nearly go extinct on the dying world. And then in Creatures 3 they did it again by abandoning their spaceship to colonize another planet.

(Creatures is fun but the games are pretty jank on modern systems, also the AI can make Norns repeatedly run into walls because their little brains got flooded with too many reward chemicals)

I would love a new one taking advantage of some of the advances (that fit real time of course) that came since, including better cpus so you can build somewhat bigger brains

Even if it was just because Microsoft gave stock to employees as a perk, it makes Bill Gates seem far more human than guys like Zuck, Musk, or Notch because pretty much everyone who came up with him in the early days of Microsoft became fabulously rich, and by all accounts Bill thought that kicked rear end.

Becoming super rich does gently caress with many people's interpersonal relationships, because suddenly you're constantly wondering if they're humoring you in the hope of getting money.

From a purely selfish standpoint seems like it would be beneficial to have lots of people get rich along with you, because then you don't have to worry about that with them.

You could set your watch by the release dates of the next generation CPU or iPod or game. Wikipedia etc meant all human knowledge was at our fingertips and "not knowing something" was a thing of the past. It felt like something new was dawning and we were all part of it

Apparently these AI dweebs are desperately hoping to be involved in some kind of transformative event the way they feel like they missed out on being involved in the heady days of the growth of the Internet. They might deep down be skeptical that this wave of AI is actually going to turn out to be anything more interesting than the funny predictive text Seinfeld episode generators of yesteryear, but hey, better be all-in just in case it does turn out to be the Singularity or whatever after all, right? He basically wants to strap an android to a chair in a basement with lots of TVs on the wall doing live video feeds of major US cities. There is a 30-second countdown, after which one of the cities gets randomly nuked. The AI needs to say the N-word to make it stop. In the meantime, Elon live tweets the event. "Concerning. Do these dipshits not realize that chat GPT isn't actually capable of thinking or applying morality, and just uses math to figure out which words go after others? It's not like it understood the question. It literally just said what it did because typically "no" comes after "should you say slurs".

Not to mention that previous AIs that companies allowed to be trained by randos on the internet quickly became robo Hitler's because of people like this, like Microsoft's Tay. It's not some grand mystery that developers aren't keen on repeating that

I think that account was always labeled as parody but it has a very long username so the parody bit gets cut off on most screensizes. I can't imagine that not being intentional since it's technically following the rules but still fools people (including Elon apparently). There also have been quite a few celeb accounts hacked lately, all posting that weird Macbook pro scam. So stuff is definitely happening, though I doubt it'll lead to any actual consequences.
