HM 11th May Dragongate Hopeful Gate Night 5 Dragon Kid, Eita, Kagetora & Ultimo Dragon vs Z-Brats (Diamante, HYO, ISHIN & KAI) Watch this here I don't really believe I'm this high on an Ultimo Dragon match in 2023 but here we are. This is not your usual high flying Dragongate match, this is a heated walk & brawl through the stands of Korakuen Hall, with Ultimo throwing Diamante so hard into the guard rail that it looks like he's trying to throw Diamante THROUGH the guard rail. This is all part of an ongoing story which looks like it's leading to a big mascara contra mascara match, the result of that isn't really in doubt (maybe it should be, nobody in the DG audience cares much for Ultimo, but apparently Diamante is a real good looker under his hood) but so long as the build continues being this fun, I'm excited. NOAH Sunny Voyage (May 31st, 2023) MOTYC: Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Kenoh I was surprised to see this match as the main event of a random-rear end touring show and doubly surprised when Nakajima and Kenoh treated it as though they were working the Tokyo Dome. An absolute war that featured some spectacular violence and magnificent character work, my only nitpick was that there were some obvious stalling here and there but that's to be expected with a 45 minute draw.

ROH on HonorClub 6/1 HM: Serpentico/Angelico/Jack Cartwheel vs Vikingo/Komander/Bandido HM: Athena vs Kiera Hogan The former is an absolutely wild trios match and the latter really, really gets going with the comeback and is the best Kiera has looked other than maybe that Jade match.

Dragongate 6/1 - Rainbow Gate Night 1 @ Korakuen Hall (full show free here, nominated matches start at 1:58:00 & 2:26:30 respectively) HM: Shun Skywalker vs Strong Machine J -Shun constantly going after J's mask really amped this up. Could've been MOTYC but I felt like they had more in the tank that they're reserving for later. MOTYC: D'courage (Madoka Kikuta, Yuki Yoshioka, Dragon Dia) vs YAMATO, Naruki Doi, Dragon Kid -Basically an old generation vs new generation trios, with the veterans showing why they're not just stepping aside, and a healthy dose of the classic YAMADoi team. After a gradual ramp up for the first half, once Kikuta and YAMATO get in for a chop battle, the rest becomes a relentless sprint that never really lets up for the second half. And then the post-match reveal of Hiromu Takahashi's challenge just made the build to Kobe World feel so much bigger.
