Hopefully between this and Spider-Verse, we actually start seeing a trend of stylistically-interesting 3D animated films pop up. drat, that trailer is great. I like the angle that they find something relatable in the enemy with them being mutants instead of wanting to kick their asses immediately.

They're turtles who got turned into hybrid animal-human mutants but most of the other mutant characters they encounter went the other way and were humans who got mutated to have animal characteristics. Splinter is an exception, in some versions he started out as a rat which knew kung fu and then became a mutant, in other versions he started out as a human

Wrong. They were old mutants with Benjamin Button disease who became ninja turtles as they decreased in age.
