Man, their Mudds bundles have been rubbish of late. This and the Khitomer Alliance Event ships are easily passable.

On the other hand, its somewhat positive that you would only have to buy the smaller "3 Item Option" option to get all the ships. Its a move away from the lovely "There are 4 ships, but only a 3 item and all 8 item Option"
Part of me hopes that this signals a change in direction, and from now on Mudd's bundles will only have 3 ships. But a bigger part of me is afraid that it's an experiment to see if the 3 ship bundles will sell better than their recent 4 ship bundles. If so, the fact that the last 2 bundles were garbage might teach cryptic the wrong lesson.

I was hoping the 50% Mudd sale from this event would include bringing back the old bundles I actually want, but alas.

There are but depends on what you have. If you did drop 200$ get the 10th anniversary bundle. Every hero ship you'd ever want, they're all at worst decent and some good. Comes with a shitload of traits for you to earn. Just the best value. Other than that it depends on your build but if you don't have Avenger yet, it's trait is meta on so many things. The tactical t6 Odyssey also has a decent trait if you're missing that, though that's in the 10th bundle. The Gagarin has entwined tactical matrixes, which is great for FAW if you wanna be lazy and torp builds. Promise of Ferocity off the tactical t6 Andorian variant is also something usable. As for a ship to fly that's not in the bundle, I really like the Lexington. It's a powerful boat, has hangers and a lance. A mix of just a bunch of fun stuff to fly around with.

Ah, I guess they took it off. It tends to only be there during sales. If you want to wait til the summer sale, whenever that happens probably late June or July, you can pick it up there. It's the single most bang for buck purchase in the entire game. Just gotta catch it. Basically never ever buy the other ones, they saw how good of a deal the 10th was and resolved to never be that generous ever again.

If you don't have the Arbiter, you should really buy the Arbiter. It's trait, Emergency Weapon Cycle, is meta for any build that uses energy weapons to do damage.

Did the Federation and Klingons stop being at war in content I didn't do? I don't remember their war ending and now in this quest line we are both allied with the Romulans and I'm working with Worf? The order of events is jumbled up now, but yes.

The Klingons and Federation both allied with the Romulan Republic while technically at war with one another but agreed to a cease-fire in Romulan space.

The Klingons and Federation formally end the war at the end of what is now the Dyson Sphere arc.

Temporal Recruitment starts again next week. Arguably the most important one, since you can get all the rep project gear to Mk13 Ultra-Rare for your whole account by doing it.

Agnosticnixie

The timeline of how the alliance is reformed falls apart at the slightest bit of scrutiny but the first arc where Worf shows up in shared missions is the arc where the alliance is formed.

Also temp recruitment is convenient for sacrificial alts since the Klingon war arc is like a quarter of the story arc rewards by itself despite having been truncated to a normal sized episode.

The problem with figuring out the sto timeline is all the time travel fuckery, specifically the iconian stuff where you annorax a few timelines in something of a mess that is itself retroactively forgotten but happens anyway.

Much like Austin Powers best to not think about it too much and enjoy yourself, or else you might go cross-eyed.

Next event campaign is coming up.

The next step of our 2023 Event Campaign is coming to PC, with an event dedicated to the flagships of Star Trek Online. From June 8th at 8am PT to June 29th at 12pm PT, you’ll have the chance to participate in four different Task Force Operations – all of them in space – to progress towards both this year’s Event Campaign Grand Prize, and two new prizes: a Prime Beverly Crusher Holographic Bridge Officer, and an upgrade to your Fleet Support.

The TFOs that will be a part of this event are:

Borg: Disconnected (Space)
Iuppiter Irratus (Space)
Swarm (Space)
Synth Wave (Space)

Rewards
Upon completing 14 days of progress on the Flagship Celebration Event, you’ll unlock the a Holographic Bridge Officer of Dr. Beverly Crusher. This is the Prime Universe version of Dr. Crusher, as she exists in the Star Trek Online era.

Beverly is an Intelligence Specialist Science Bridge Officer, and comes with a new trait: A Lot’s Happened in the Last Twenty Years. This trait reduces the recharge time of your bridge officer abilities each second after activating a beam or torpedo firing mode. It also applies Torpedo: High Yield one immediately after activating a shield or hull repair.

In addition, you’ll receive the Fleet Flagship Distress Frequency. This passive device summons the Flagship of your faction when you activate Fleet Support.

Nothing super exciting, but not a terrible event.

They really seem to like their new Jupiter orbit map.

EDIT: At least the really nice looking Mars map is getting some further mileage. I was actually a bit weirded out that they had the fleet yards map in Mars, but the only place it was used was one very, very short mission on the Klingon tutorial campaign.

I think you've got it backwards. My recollection is the original Mars map during the Klingon tutorial was much worse, and they recreated the Klingon tutorial mission after they did an STF based entirely off a Short Trek before Picard S1 came out, about the attack on Mars that lead to Starfleet abandoning the Rom evacuation.

Yea, I doubt it. She's competing against Jem'Hadar Vanguards, Kentari, and the Hierarchy reward BOff. Maybe on a sci-heavy ship, but the numbers will have to be good.

The device being passive is at least a little interesting. I mean it's still useless, but in a novel way.

I have a feeling the HoloBev trait might be getting underrated for certain builds, though it's weird enough that it will be hard to rate it properly.

According to a dev posting on reddit, the trait has cooldowns for both effects:

quote:

30 sec. for the minor Photonic Officer boost, 45 sec. for the Torpedo: High Yield I boost. These are independent of one another.
from here.

If it's identical to PO1 every 30 seconds then it's potentially useful in combination with Boimler's or another source of CDR. If it's weaker than PO1 it'll be useless. 45 seconds is entirely too long to wait for an extra HY1.

The new Tholian warp core is pretty fun for The Ninth Rule and similar patrols where every wave warps into the same spot. Eventually, I had so many crystals up that I just stopped firing and let them wipe each wave instantaneously over and over.

New R&D Consoles. I'm a little confused by the mixing/matching restrictions on this (particularly what qualifies as the advanced Tac consoles? And if they also have mixing restrictions?)

The hangar pets console seems like a nice boost for carriers. The Sci-drain ones also seem interesting. The EPG ones I'm not sure I understand...but if they're just providing more EPG, then it seems like there's a ton of other sources to get it from?

Wizard of the Deep

I read it as they're making two existing Spire Tac consoles (Vulnerability Locator and Vulnerability Exploiter) into Advanced Consoles.

You can only equip one kind of Advanced console: Sci, Tac, or Eng. You can have as many Adv Sci consoles as you want, but then you can't equip any Adv Tac or Adv Eng consoles.

The Adv Sci Exotic Particle Amplifier will increase damage based on your EPG. So more EPG = More Exotic Damage.

It's a straight upgrade for Sci, and may become a requirement for top-line scihole meta.

The two real concerns are 1) It sounds like the recipes are drops from Elite TFOs (so welcome back to the horrors of rolling and hoping you don't get shat on) and 2) How closely the blog entry will be to reality/implementation. Kael didn't sign it, so odds that the blog is mostly accurate reach all the way up to 50/50.

Also we have little in the way of hard numbers, so the numbers could be so conservative as to be useless.

Jxforema

So it seems like the point is to boost damage (or usefulness) on non tac console heavy ships by being able to boost weapon and whatever other modifier you want and then put it into a sci or eng console slot, presumably whatever you have more of. I wonder if this means we won’t be seeing as many consoles in the future, or if the ones we get from now on will be weirder.

So you'd have your EPG providing consoles (mostly a bunch of universals with nice clicks, like plasma storm), and then some advanced-sci consoles that multiply your EPG Damage?

Yeah, that's gonna be a change to the sci-wiz meta most likely.
