Finished God Emperor. Book ruled, even though it kinda just ends (though the others kinda do this too). Did anyone else also think Siona kinda came across as really cynical/ruthless in the end? She just merked her father and completely used Duncan without a second thought. Though this might be because we don't spend that much time seeing her thought or point of view in comparison to Leto,Moneo or Duncan. I think my current rating is Dune/God Emperor>Messiah>>Children. Don't know if I'm gonna read the other ones now, this one was already getting too horny with everyone wanting to gently caress Duncan/Hwi.

heretics is pretty mid, with a few interesting things going on, but it also features a first person inner dialogue from a bene gesserit who is trying to psych herself up and internally justifying her orders to groom and "imprint" on a 13 year old, so it should probably be skipped. chapterhouse is actually better, and worth reading, but without heretics there's no point, so it's probably best to stop at god emperor.

I liked Heretics way better than Chapterhouse. It's pretty action-packed for a DUNC book; some of y'all said that Miles Teg 'goes super-saiyan' and while my knowledge of DBZ is very limited that definitely tracks with the frenzy he goes on later in the book. If you can overlook the Other Memory pedo poo poo (and I thought that the Duncan ghola was supposed to be way younger, like 8, but this isn't something I'm going to dwell on either way) it's a really good read. The clam chowder discussion in Chapterhouse is actually shorter than you lot made it sound, it's only like six or seven pages.
