I have no idea what possessed Bendis to name him that or why the editors let it through. Honestly, it will forever be a blemish on the character's legacy.

The only explanation I've ever heard was that Bendis was nodding towards Miles Davis stealthily. And the father being named Jefferson was an unintentional mistake.

Dumb theory based off a character I'm mostly unfamiliar with: Rachel Dratch's "Ms. Weber," is actually Madame Web. Partly because of the name, partly because a clairvoyant guidance counselor is conceptually very funny.

I didn't know what the problem with Jefferson Davis as a name was until earlier today, reading this thread.

Nobody even pushes a switch. There's probably one tech in the whole district who knows how any of the poo poo works and trains a manager to ingest media into the thing and set the schedule and then poo poo just plays at the scheduled times.

Maybe Miles should get a sweet bracelet he uses in conjunction with his powers, or a guitar, or a motorcycle, or just be a T-Rex.

Video games was extremely dull in tht first game but in his own game he rules because they were able to pull from the movie for his characterization.

Hes too much like Ultimate Peter and his races are barely ever touched on or woven into the themes and are just window dressing. Both game and Movie lean into his culture way more, given number of appearances.

Wow, that sucks. I don't really know what ultimate Peter is either but a lot of the quality of the first movie is dealing with his heritage

I was talking about Prowler Morales. You're absolutely right about Verse Miles being the best though. I remember thinking back when I first saw Into the Spiderverse that they managed in two hours to make Miles more compelling a character than the comics did in a decade.

I'm only like 25% the way through the game, but he still seems pretty lame. Although most of that is how rushed and poorly thought out his main villains are. Any% doc ock and the Norman Osborn we have at home are not compelling in any way.
