Then you'll be glad to hear that the books are now published with different, much less terrifying illustrations. Which totally ruins the book for me and all the kids I went to school with, the stories were secondary to the scary as hell drawings. The no-eyes ghost and the girl with the spider eggs in her face were class favorites

It seems the new illustrations were so unpopular that they went back to the originals. Changing them was a terrible idea, the illustrations are what make the books so good, the stories aren't anything special
