The whole selling point of bitcoin as an "investment" is that the rate of new creation slows down and eventually stops they become harder to get over time, lost passwords and coins getting fat-fingered to invalid wallet addresses speeds that up so everyone likes it when they're not the ones losing coins, but caveat emptor they should have been smarter. I've posted a few times before, but really nothing summed it up like 'these guys think they're buying tickets to the rapture'. There's a loose vibe of like, buying Apple, Amazon or Microsoft stock in the 90s, but at this point it's sheer irrational exuberance.
