Ok let me try it: Ok I think I figured it out: if I grab the share link immediately after uploading it to my Imgur app it gives me the page's url instead of the actual image's (which has the .jog file). Yeah, HEIC is annoying that way. You can make a shortcut to select, convert, upload, and link a photo from your library: It will use the Imgur app so whatever you’re logged in as there.

That’s a shortcut for the shortcuts app that will upload to your imgur account so that the images don’t get purged after arbitrary timeframe. I think your awful.app is out of date, as it shouldn’t upload images anymore because of the imgur changes making all those uploads ephemeral

The latest app version currently has an intersectionobserver on the posts view so that it only plays the ghost animation for posts currently intersecting with the viewport (i.e. will be seen) and stops playing when the post is no longer intersecting. Could probs use that to quietly fire off a Mark As Last Read message on the first post preceding a currently intersecting post whenever the app moves to background or the user navigates away. Something to experiment with after addressing the recent new issues maybe

I have the best inconsequential bug report. Description: when you scroll a thread with certain conditions, it makes constant tiny haptic vibrations Repro: 1. Turn on haptic feedback 2. Go to a thread 3. Tap BUT DO NOT LIFT YOUR FINGER on UI element that would pop up a context menu, e.g., a username or the “…” at the bottom right of a post 4. Rest your finger there for a moment 5. Drag your finger up or down to scroll the page 6. Result: the page scrolls as expected, but every tiny bit you move emits a vibration Expected behavior: idk I guess that it scrolls without triggering the haptics …but really just reporting it so other people can try! It’s fun! (Also thank you thank you for this app and the recent update, super slick!)

It racked up 14000 unexplained views over a short timeframe, and then went back to being unpopular. Was there an automated crawl of imgur stuff by the SA servers a few months ago, or a bug hammering imgur links? If not then no worries

Before I discovered the "Mark Read" button I was a slave to the curse of always having to read to the end of the page before I could swipe out and go on with my day. Do you know how many times I have been sitting in a plane waiting to take off, speed-reading a thread to get to the end so I could pull-refresh another page to have 40 more offline posts to read after the plane leaves the tarmac and before someone gives me the side-eye for not having it in airplane mode??

I used to do it when I commuted on the subway

i like the new update, but can’t see the leper’s colony. the place where it should be in bottom menubar is populated by a nonfunctional rap sheet button instead. known issue? edit: maybe not entirely nonfunctional, it seems to load in background? my network is a bit slow at the moment so maybe there are images down in the feed significantly slowing the load?

Not sure if it’s from the app or just being on a crappy network, and I wasn’t going to mention this, but since you did I will.
