Chapter 59! Also 60-62 are up, but they’re all from the slightly less good translator. I feel like the comic is getting funnier though, so it balances out. After a few chapters getting to know Obnoxious Sports Girl, we spend a few with Obnoxious Fan Girl, who is also a bunny girl at a fan cafe and mayyyyyyybe other things

I finished this show earlier tonight and it's so loving good. The music, the feelings, the Bocchi deaths, all so drat good. I really need to dig my guitars out of my parents house, like so many others this show really makes me miss playing music even if I was poo poo at it.

On the surface, the elevator pitch reads rather niche - Cute girls doing cute band things, but instead of moe blobs it's a comedy about how one of the girls is super introverted! Then they landed every aspect of the transition from page to screen and ended up turning a gag manga into a solid band comedy with highly detailed animation and great music. On paper, this show should have been a single season of timeslot filler instead of a breakout international hit.

Yeah I like the manga but even I wouldn't expect an anime adaptation to become so popular, it's just that the adaptation was far far better than it had any need to be because the people making it were clearly loved the source material and were having a lot of fun.
