I mostly like it came with a scoop spoon that fits inside it so i never have to search for it. after using it multiple times daily for a year and a half the lid developed a vertical crack on the side. It still seems to be ok, but the lid goes on pretty easy without pressing the button which is probably not a great sign for the vacuum tightness. I dont think i keep the beans around long enough for it to really matter tho. most coffee bags should be fine to keep your beans in cause they should be either fully or semi-resealable and have a 1 way valve, so coffee storage containers are more about aesthetics than anything else

ya I keep the beans in the bag what they came from. a 12 oz bag doesn’t last me more than about a week so I’m not that worried about it

i have one of those plastic bins with a button that seals it. pour the beans in there because the bags my beanmaster uses get real annoying to use once they are at about 50% or lower

iirc if ur beans aren't guaranteed to go from roast->gone in 2 weeks you lose all the benefits of the freshest beans anyway, so bag is fine

first brew of the james beans is underwhelming; partner described it as "bitter water". was using my baseline of 38g beans to "the 8 line on the carafe" so i think maybe more beans next time will be good

gonna do a cold brew batch this weekend with the expensive beans just to see how it turns out. need to get some mid beans for future batches though
